Morrigan won't teach you the specialization "Shapeshifter" if she likes you too much.  I believe if she is "warm" to you she will teach it, but if it's any higher, she will NOT.

If you're too high, just ****** her off by breaking up with her, asking her to leave then saying she can stay, etc. and she will teach you once it's lowered enough.

This seems to be a bug!

If true, it does sound like a bug. I got her to teach me at Interested. Which I believe is the romance equivalent of warm.

Based on her dialogue, it seems the setting is backwards.

There was a runnign joke that, since Shapeshifter is almost universally considered the worst mage spec, Morrigan refuses to teach it once she starts to like you. She feels bad burdening you with such useless skills.

This is 3 months old:) But she won't teach you if have high approval with her cause she fears she will get more attached to you, and she doesn't like that... my guess.

This irritated me - I hit the same bug - I mean, her approval was super high, we were head over heels in ... well, Morrigan hates the word love, let's just say being friends with benefits ... and she still wouldn't teach me shapeshifting. I'm like, does it have to go to 101 to convince you?

Then I found out you could buy the manual (screw you woman, I'll just go read the book), or of course, cheat it.

It's interesting you can also buy the manual for spirit healer, which Wynne teaches.

However, there are no manuals for the two mage specs your party members can't teach, blood mage, and arcane warrior. Either you cheat em, or you find them.

It's not a bug, she's just perverse!

(And Wynne does not teach the Spirit Healer specialization.)

Well, that makes sense considering their natures. The only place to feasibly buy a Blood Mage manual would be on some magical black market. And Arcane Warrior... well, this is a no-spoiler forum. But its a bit too ancient to buy a manual for.

Even though it is a bug, I kind of think the devs left it in because it suits Morrigan's character in a humorous way.
Personally, my opinion was that she was purposely toying with me: She easily agreed to teach me back when there are no other mages in the party. But as soon as another mage appeared, and I actually might have a use for learning her spec, she immediately changes her mind.

Edit: Also I like how she doesn't hesitate to ****** you off, no matter how much she likes you.  Just like a girl I know, bah.

It's not a bug. Not trying to nerdrage here, but seriously. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a bug.
