Greetings,

I am looking for some help on deleting my account - I wish to delete my account as I cannot update my username, and create a new account with my new gaming persona. However, if I do delete this current account, am I able to retie my DLC and my games to the other account?

Are there necessary steps to go through this process? I've searched before but couldn't find anything more on the matter.

Thank you all kindly for your time.

You will need to create a new master account. You cannot use the existing EA/DA:O account option. If you intend to retain your current e-mail address that means you should change your current e-mail address to something else (cf. FAQ), login with it here to update the information just as a safety precaution, and then logout and create a new account with the old e-mail address. Then you will need to speak to EA live support in order to transfer entitlements from the old EA account to the new one. You do not need to unregister games in order to register them with a different account.

Sorry, I'm rather thick Snoteye, would you be able to reclarify what I need to do?

I need to create a new EA Master Account, correct, then ask them to transfer my entitlements for the games over?

Sorry for the double post, but I just talked to EA Live. They told me there is no possible way to do this, which is a pain. =/

No, it is pretty complicated.

Behind your BSN account is an EA master account. This is the one entitlements (DLC), characters, etc. tie into. Deleting your BSN account does not free up that EA account so that you can create a new account with it, attempting to do so will result in recovering your old account. It seems the only way to get a new username is to also get a new EA account. In order to do that as well as retain the e-mail address of that EA account you must first change the current e-mail address of the old EA account to something else, then create a new account with the e-mail address you want to use. After that, EA support can transfer entitlements. If you do not mind using a different e-mail address for your new BSN account, simply go ahead and create a new account (still using the new EA account option, unless you have previously used that e-mail address for anything EA related).

All of this is several months old. It may not be exactly how things work anymore but the process I describe should still work.

That may be true depending on what you asked them. What they can do, and have done, is transfer entitlements. They can't do any more than that (e.g. "change your username"), however.

Hi, my name is Mark. How may I help you? [11:39:34 AM]
: Hello Mark, how are you? [11:41:33 AM]
Mark: Hello [11:44:30 AM]
Mark: I am fine [11:44:32 AM]
Mark: What about you? [11:44:37 AM]
: I'm wondering if you can help me - I'd like to transfer my games over to a new EA Master Account. [11:42:16 AM]
Mark:
I am really sorry but once the game is registered on one account then
it is not possible to transfer to any other account [11:45:41 AM]
Mark: I do apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. [11:45:43 AM]

Gonna' go in for round number 2, maybe he was just new. I'll ask them if they can 'transfer over entitlements' from one account to another. I have both the EA Master Accounts set up (my current one here, and the new one as you said).

Just worried about losing all my DLC for both DAO and ME2/ME1.

Update number 2: Asked them if they can.

Paolo: Hi, my name is Paolo. How may I help you?

: Hello Paolo, I'm hoping you can help me

: I am wishing to transfer entitlements between one of my accounts to another.

: The Bioware people told me to talk to you guys about it.

Paolo: Unfortunately entitlement cannot be move from account to account.

: One of your own says it's doable

: Here.

: "All of your EA entitlements have been transfered to the email address you requested (including your Spore login). Let me know if you have any other problems."

: And the people at Bioware told me that it was possible if I asked through EA Live Chat.

: Not to mention, when you purchase a game you are allowed to do a single license transfer, as per the EULA.

Paolo: There's some entitlement, we cannot move.

: May I ask which one?

Paolo: you may get problem on moving so.

: Which games however can you not move?

Paolo: there's no specific games.

Paolo: All games entitlements

: I'm so confused. You have done this in the past for many people, with no issues. Why is it a problem now? Is there someone else I could speak to regarding this matter?

Paolo: If you are responsible for losing any entitlement, I will do it. but we are not responsible if some item lost on moving

: What would 'losing' an entitlement pertain to?

: I notice that on your forums, similar people have requested to have their 'accounts linked' - would that be an easier option for you?

Paolo: achievements, stats, and some DLCs

: Is 'linking' two accounts an easier option for you?

: Or is it the same thing?

Paolo: Account cannot be merge

Gah. I'm scared of losing my DLC. I know there's a risk of doing it but this guy doesn't seem like he's very knowledgeable on the subject.

I don't know if the only barrier there is one of language but I am inclined to agree with your assessment. Many have successfully done this in the past and I wouldn't really worry about it, although I would probably see if I could find somebody else.

Account linking has to do with legacy forum accounts and is no longer necessary (and I was told by a former developer that it had been disabled). Either way, it would not help you.

My last attempt:

Hi, my name is Andy. How may I help you? [01:34:57 PM]
: Hello Andy [01:36:16 PM]
: I am hoping if you can help me with a few issues. [01:36:22 PM]
Andy: hello [01:33:49 PM]
Andy: Sure [01:33:53 PM]
: =) [01:36:29 PM]
Andy: :D [01:34:02 PM]
: Alright, bear with me while I type this out. [01:37:05 PM]
: 1) I wish to transfer entitlements from one account to another. The reason for doing so is creating a new Bioware Social Network account for personal reasons. I contacted their support service and they told me that, to do this, I need to create a new EA master account, which I have done, then get the entitlements for my old account transferred over to my new EA master account. [01:37:57 PM]
: I talked to a previous representative who confused me - he said it wasn't possible, then after I linked him to various forum replies from EA representatives and previous chatlogs he said it was. I admit out of anger I gave up and disconnected. [01:38:46 PM]
: 2) I am having an issue logging into EADM with my 'new' EA Master Account. It works fine for my other account (), but not for the new one (). The password is correct. [01:39:18 PM]
: Sorry for the wall of text. ^^ [01:39:49 PM]
Andy: Ok please wait . [01:38:24 PM]
: Of course. [01:41:04 PM]
Andy: Ok tell me are you able to access the E-mail inbox for that account or not . [01:39:39 PM]
Andy:<removed for privacy> [01:39:43 PM]
: Umm...forgive my stupidity, but where would I find that in the account page? [01:42:43 PM]
Andy: Sorry but in this case I have to escalate this issue to my senior [01:40:26 PM]
: That's fine. =) [01:43:10 PM]
Andy: They will contact back to you via E-mail with in 24 hrs via E-mail [01:40:46 PM]
: I understand. [01:43:19 PM]
Andy: Ok . [01:40:52 PM]
: Okay...is there no way entitlements can be transferred now or will the senior be able to help me with that issue? [01:43:41 PM]
Andy: Our senior will help you in this issue . [01:41:27 PM]
Andy: Ok [01:41:29 PM]
Andy: Have a nice day [01:41:32 PM]
Andy: Bye [01:41:34 PM]
Andy: Take care [01:41:37 PM]
: *nod* Alright. Have a great day, Andy [01:44:09 PM]
'' disconnected ('Concluded by Agent'). [01:44:11 PM]

Looks like I'll be waiting a while. Thank you so much for all your help, Snoteye, I really appreciate it.

I believe it's a language barrier, too, but I think for now I'll just swallow my anger and wait for an email reply. If only Bioware ran the support for this game and not EA, lesigh.

So. I got them to transfer PART of my DLC. It's currently 12:23 AM in the morning, and I have been on the chat support for 3 hours. The lady told me that all my DLC had been transferred (even though I can still see them on this account), and when I pointed this out to her she told me that it is all there, I'm just mistaken.

On top of this, they said they transferred all my personas - I now have two 'EA-ID's' on the new EA account but am locked out of all my games, including Battlefield Bad Company 2. They said I'd need to purchase a new CD Key to rectify the issue for BFBC2. Currently BFBC2 is selling at around 50-60 USD, retail.

Just a quick question: I'm having the same problem, but I bould the Ultimate Edition of DA: O. If I register the key on a different account, will the dlc still be transferred, seeing as it was bundled?

Explain what you want to do again. You want to register your copy of the Ultimate Edition but on a different account than the one you used to post this message? And you want the DLC to be on a different account from the main game? I'm confused as to what you want to do here.
