This is some kind of stupid joke right? The sentence I corrected read, "I'm assuming your not English, unlike myself." Rewritten properly it would read, "I'm assuming you are not English, unlike myself." Are being the key linking verb in the sentence here. It this case the proper contraction is you're. Did I really have to explain that to you?

First off, I responded to a post directed at myself. That post came before yours so I hadn't even read it. Second, why are you even getting involved? None of this was even directed at you. Third, I was trying to agree with someone. I pointed out that either we had a grammatical problem (on my part), a comprehension problem (on Mavi's part), or a combination of both. I'm getting flamed now for trying to be agreeable? Interesting....

Semantic differences. Not grammatical. Sorry, the word nerd in me had to pipe up on that one.

Nah. But you're not wrong. We were definitely arguing semantics. That was the start of it. But it was actually a grammatical issue that appeared to be in contention.

The grammatical issue I was pointing to had to do with the way I had written a particular sentence. Someone interpreted it to mean something I had not intended and then proceeded to correct me on it. When attempting to explain that I had not written what they were interpreting (in a most unkind way), the whole thing started.

It's always a bad sign when someone else is trying to tell you what you said....

Keep wondering about this bug, cos I have the latest patch for PS3, and hit Blight Queller (? right name for 1k kills?) after the patch was installed.

No idea how I did it, other than killing darkspawn, obviously, because I keep reading about all these problems with it.

See, I must have gotten confused (imagine that, lol). I thought this was more a "what the definition of is is" kind of an argument than a "you used your when you should have used you're" argument (at least at the point when I made that post.)

One thing I think we can all agree on, the whole thing devolved into an off-topic cluster-f**k.
