I would change two things:
1. Let Human Noble become King.
2. Have some REAL romance with Queen Anora.

A romance with Anora makes no sense at all within the limits of the game. With a woman like Anora you probably need to make friends with her before any romance could even enter the picture. You just don't have time to see her long enough for that. I would love it if it was possible to pursue the relationship somehow later, but I'm not holding my breath.

True, but they could have developed a romance in Awakening. Instead of having Anora run off right away, have her spend the night with her husband. I find it ridiculous that Anora (and Alistar) went all the way out there, only to leave in a few mins.

They would first have to develope the relationship by letting you show if you wanted to pursue a friendly supportive relationship or wanted to try to grab power. That would really require a lot of content that was exclusively for just those who married Anora. I seriously doubt Anora would be romantically interested in someone unless she first felt secure that he wasn't after her power.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see such content, but I'm not holding my breath as it would only be for a segment of the players.

1. When Fergus is found, allow more time to speak with him. After all, he's been missing a year, whole family dead, and he is your brother. Plus he's the only teryn now in Fereldan - he should have been treated with more respect.

2. In game (this holds true for all of the origins) have more talk about the PC. But, especially with a noble. Regardless of the fact that he/she is now a grey warden, they were nobles far longer, and still expect some respect. I hate that there is no real discussion with anyone (even those who are being romanced) about the PC him/herself. I mean, really - Arl Eamon doesn't even acknowledge the bloodline, and Teagan only barely. Really!

1.) I'm wearing a noble clothing in the beginning of the Origins
2.) Better armor during the fight like Heavy Plate Set, Heavy Chainmail, or Ceremonial Armor
3.) Family Sword and Shield levels up to Tier 7 or Tier 9 in Awakening
4.) Have at least 10 sovereigns
5.) Recruit Ser Gilmore or Fergus
6.) Chance to return to Highever like a sidequest maybe
7.) Highever Champion Armor
( kind of like a Chevalier Armor with a Highever Heraldry
Silverite version is Silver, Dragonbone version is Black, Volcanic version is Gold)
I'll come up with the drawing of what it looks like and post it somewhere:D

I thought the point was that you forfit your past life to become a warden, like the legion of the dead, so to have people talk to you as a noble wouldn't really make sense, and none of the other origins really demand such treatment except DN in Orzammar, which was done really well anyway. But a bit more agknowledgment from the right people would be nice, like Irving treating a returning mage pretty much the same as any other character is annoying, and your Eamon example, and your romance asking about your Origin might be nice but I can understand not all the companions asking, having the same conversation would get tiresome after so many times.

I can understand the DN not being treated as such but why not the HN just because you become a warden does not mean people forget.

Lots of good ideas.

All of this could have been done if the game had two origins stories: Human Noble male and Human Noble female. That's it

Within the scope of all the different background stories the elves, dwarves, humans can have I can't blame the devs for not including these things. I just felt I needed to give BW a pass on this one and say I think they did a great job.

But this is a fun thread with neat ideas. Game on.

My ideas

1) Send Iona's daughter back to Eamon's Estate and have some options for adoption, send her to the chantry, etc.

2) A cutscene for Howe's death - I don't just mean him laying there ****ing. I mean like an actual movie style scene where I'm wrecking him.

3) The ability to claim the throne for myself. My Teynir was #1 contender behind the King before this mess - I've got a legit claim. If Alistair doesn't want it, and Anora is not of noble birth, I should be able to take it.

OOOWWWW!  Those pants are just . . . baggy in the wrong places and way too tight in others.  "Smashing!"

Unfortunately you don't have the political power to get away with it. You don't have enough allies to do it. you are not even the oldest Cousland. Your only real claim is your status as war hero, and Loghain's regency just made the people of Ferelden a bit cautious about letting a new war hero get power.

Since no one but Anora ever mentions Alistair being a Grey Warden as a reason to be hesitant to put him on the throne and she only says that if you, as a Grey Warden, do that then it will look like your order is just looking to put one of its own on the throne and weaken the case against Loghain. It would sort of be like if Alistair weren't available so Eamon decided to put Teagan forth as the new King. Anora could easily make the same argument that people would think that Eamon just wanted to put a Guerrin on the throne.

I know Duncan says that GW are expected to give up their former lives but that seems more like an Warden policy than something enforced by others. People also use Sophia Dryden's being put into the Wardens to appease her supporters as proof that her being a Warden meant that she could no longer hold a title but given the cirumstances and the fact that her children could not inherit her title and Nathaniel's...relation that became a Grey Warden didn't stop his father from inheriting Amaranthine I suspect that what actually happened was that he stripped the Dryden's of their title and then sentenced her to be a Grey Warden as it gave her something to do and made her nice and obsolete.

The main one for me was my pc's age. Ideally, my character is somewhere in the 25-30 age, but the HN origin makes it seem that your pc is a teenager or barely older than 20. Bryce Cousland constantly called my HN, "pup", his mother called him "my youngest" rather than just "son" or something, and then the parts with Nan and your old tutor (forget the name). The HN almost seems like a kid during the origin, and then afterwards, they're suddenly thrust into the role of the "Savior of Ferelden".

As for Howe's death, perhaps a bit more would be nice, but you do get a few lines of dialogue just before the fight, and you are there for the landsmeet. I doubt the HN would put everything on hold so they could scoop Howe's innards out with a spoon. A beheading scene wouldn't have hurt though...

HN also do get some dialogue bits from Cailan at Ostagar when you first meet him, and then during the Landsmeet when you speak to the various nobles. More HN "perks" certainly wouldn't hurt, but this is just one of 6 origins afterall.

I'm guessing the Human Noble is 25. Fergus looks 30, at least to me. Besides, I don't think Anora would marry a man who is 10 years younger.

Why wouldn't she? Inexperience would make him less of a threat, it's a political marriage anyway and it would help her secure her throne no matter what age he was (as long as it wasn't creepy-young), and she's not actually thirty just in her late twenties so it wouldn't be ten years anyway.

I definitely wanted to do something for Iona's daughter. That is top of y list, and forcing mom to escape with me is close second. Maybe dad was dying, but I should have been able to save mom.

@Sabariel. Parents can treat you like a kid even when you are 40...

The Cousland parents aren't the only ones who speak as if you've just entered man/womanhood.

True, but I can't stand the thought of playing an 18 year old Warden.

Plus if the Warden is too young then Duncan looks worse for forcing conscription on them in return for saving their life.

Let me kick Howe in the head a couple of times when he's down before he dies.

Save my mother so she doesn't have to kiss that b*******s feet before she dies.

Have a better reunion with my brother and go home and have a memorial service for my parents at Highever.

Romance and Marry Teagan!

I kind of doubt that's what happened. Fergus said she goes down fighting, Bryce likely died before Howe even arrived as he was bleeding out too much to even be able to stand, and after watching her husband die and seeing the corpses of her daughter-in-law and grandson why in the world would Eleanor do that? Her child was safely away and she was stronger than that.

Of course it probably didn't happen that way, but Howe knew what he was doing when he said it....he knew that you'd always have that little bit of doubt that maybe, just maybe he was telling the truth.  Remember this guy just LOVES torture...

Oh, I know the whole leaving your life behind thing. But, what if your noble didn't want to become a warden (the HMN I'm running now didn't and fights it constantly); besides, not everyone out there knows the grey warden rules.

And, you so get what I'm saying!  Yes to the mage example!  I also guess I just wished our companions would ask questions other than "what are you doing about the blight?": or "What do you think your responsibilities as a grey warden are?"  I mean c'mon! They live it every day!  How about a normal conversation like "how are you doing?"  After all, the PC asks everyone else that, but no one asks him/her!

Sheesh!
