If you're still experiencing issues, please ensure you've tried the following:



- Check with your credit card / bank to confirm that they have not put a hold of some kind on the card. Particularly if you're doing several transaction attempts at the same time this will sometimes prompt your bank or the points site to put a hold on it as a way to protect you. Contact your bank. If there is no hold on their end, wait a few days and try again on the site.



- If your account/card/IP address is not from the same country this may prevent the transaction in some cases. This is another protection method for you. If you think this may be a factor, then please mention that when contacting support.



- On a similar note, there are some countries which are still not supported by the points site at all. When contacting support always make sure you let them know which country your account/card is in.



- The points site still does not support military base addresses. If you think this may be a factor, let support know. Alternatively, you may want to consider a PayPal account.



- In several european countries (incl Germany, Russia, Poland, Hungary - sorry, off-hand I don't recall all countries) BioWare Points are also available at retail stores so this may be an alternative. Some community members have also mentioned you can purchase these from several online stores which ship worldwide as well.

I have a Visa debit card. Whenever I try to purchase BW points I get "The credit card could not be verified". I don't think the problem is my card, since other online purchases have gone through without issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

This happened to me last year. EA/BW electronic verification is hypersensitive, and once you've triggered the tiniest flag, you're more or less doomed. I had 3 payment methods - Visa, MC, and Paypal, all went ******-up at the same time 'cause of a wrong p/w entry or something.

I got everything resolved once I was able to contact a sentient biological entity via email. The entity conducted a red-flag seek-and-destroy mission on my account which ultimately reset my 'Worthy Consumer' achievement. FWIW, I use only Paypal now. Good luck finding that bio-entity.

Yes it's the flagging if you make the slightest mistake I think. In particular if you have letters in your name that are NOT in the English alphabet, it's not at all obvious what to type. But if you type in the wrong thing (or what the payment system incorrectly assumes is wrong), you are flagged and can no longer pay. Awesome.



The EA store worked for me at least.

IT worked earlier this morning, then I tried to charge 1600 points through my Mastercard AND VISA it didn't work. I am filling up with rage now.

Everything seems to be cool with the card, I've used it several times before to buy points, and use it to shop online every so often, so the problem aint on my end. I don't understand whats going on here. I shouldn't have to create an account somewhere else (like paypal) in order to buy points that I was able to get before without issue.

I can't find a Wallie Card or EA cash card to avoid all of this credit card drama. Are they actually sold in US stores, or will I be stuck using a credit card/VISA gift card?

So after a long search, many attempts, it turns out... my region simply unables me to buy Bioware Points. Seriously? Why allow me to purchase the game in the first place? If anything, I would at least like to know why the region I'm in affects the purchase, for some closure. Anyone happen to know?

attempting to buy points for the witch hunts DLC, my debit card never gets verified while my paypal payment keeps getting refused saying "An error occured while trying to process your request. Please try again later."

edit: this is the second day i've been trying...

i've already updated billing information and talked to my bank making sure there is no hold on the card, which is the same one linked to my pay pal account...

yes, i am not currently in the states, but i've used paypal to purchase points before, even using a server based in lebanon...

i know the card on its own should work since i've just purchased books from amazon... but maybe i don't fully understand how paypal works... do i have to add funds to my paypal account? because i swear the first couple of times i bought points, i didn't have to, paypal simply charged my debit...

and maybe another problem is now i'm using internet based in germany... is this contributing to the problem... is bioware flagging me cause my account originally bought points from lebanon, now suddenly it's from germany?

if it does, how is this going to affect my points purchase once i get back stateside?
