Not the most scientifically accurate concept of a female turian, but certainly a badass one.

I would think the head would be a bit more different from male turians. I wonder how their armor will look like with that structure.

Maybe it would look basically the same?

I have a hard time imagining turian females having breasts the same way humans have. It looks a big off...

Aside from the breasts (I don't believe they would have them), it is an awesome picture :). She looks great.

i'm i going insane, or does anyone else think that looks like yuffie reincarnated as a turian?

alright, on-topic: the whole "turian breasts"  thing just doesn't seem to work imho.

personally, i think they have a shorter, slighter, more lithe/athletic build than males, and possibly a more muted
head fringe.

anyway, nice pic man:)

I just saw that pic and looked for posts that already said this ...
Did you facepalmed/headdesked too?

As for the Turianne (hehe, ... see what I did there?), the already mentioned thing about humanlike breasts totally blasts the whole concept.
As for the face, ... it is hard to imagine any Turian with more, classical female attributes as things like mimic or female facial structures can't really be implemented.
What I would expect would be a rather short Turian with a less muscular/massive built and less edgy attributes.

Yes, the female turian has chest plates that resemble breasts.

No, this is not because I'm an idiotic male that thinks female=boobs.

This was a conscious design decision - not to make the image more "sexy", but simply to make it more easily recognisable as female. Yes, it's less realistic. As an avian species, turians would not have mammary glands.  However, not being turians ourselves, we can't be expected to pick up on the more subtle differences between genders.

If I had drawn a 100% realistic female turian, I would have had a very small amount of people praising it's realism, and most people saying "isn't that a dude?"

If we follow the avian pattern - female turians should be larger, less elaborately coloured versions of the males. Turian males aren't exactly colourful, are they? It DOESN'T MATTER how I design them - they don't exist - why get worked up over something that isn't even real?

That picture was meant to balance realism and artistic licence.

I agree with OP. The art is much improved with features humans recognize as innately female. Very good work

No Laser Bows for an instance. Don't really know about the rest, but what shackles me the most is this laser bow, ... I mean ... Laser Bow?

I don't want to insult anyone or talk their skill down, I wish I could draw like that, ... but a Laser Bow?

Light risk ...

I really don't know why everyone's calling it a laser bow....

I only made the string glow like that to make it more visually interesting - the "arrow" is meant to be an explosive device.

But not believable. There are several species on Earth where we as humans cannot differentiate between the male and female members at a glance. Why should/would we be able to with aliens?

Maybe because that's what I wanted to do with the art?

I honestly have no idea why so many people are getting worked up over the realism of it.

It's just a drawing - of a completely fictional creature - what does it matter what design choices I made?

I'm so sorry that something that's "not believable" automatically = bad.

It's not bad at all. From an artistic point (without the fanboyish pickiness) it's quite a beautiful piece. I like how you separated the fringes actually... and I love the way the background is blurred... it's... just really cool, in my opinion.
