I choose to have the blood mage fight the demon to free Conor in The Fade. He beat her, but my codex shows that Conor was freed but lost his mother. Also shows his mother died to to free Conor, but she is very much alive! Not a huge deal really, but I'm wondering if that will have an effect on the ending.

I have the same problem. My codex/achievements are also showing the wrong ending for the Becilian Forsest. I hope this doesn't mess anything up.

If I go to the circle of magi, can I still enter the fade to become a Blood Mage?I'm playing the good character with a dark secret.

I went to the circle of magi to allow me to enter the fade to save connor. I told the demon I would not talk to her and fought her right away. I have the blood mage spec unlocked. Maybe it's just bugged for me, but it seems that just entering the fade no matter how you choose to end it you get the spec?

I was hoping so. I had teh game minimized just for this question. Here goes nothing!

You can go in and ask her to give you the ability. Don't fight her, not sure if it's bugged and will give you it... but don't risk it. Just make a deal with her if you really want it. That's how I unlocked mine, though by accident as I simply wanted to see the possiblities... Then I reloaded it and still got it. So I'll probably get my hero to 'study' the Blood Magical arts. Like in that codex entry... that one person that studied it to counter it... seems more suiting for my 'good' character.
