I'm currently on Feros. Before this point in the game the sound was all good and i was happily spoon-feeding Geth bullets. However now i am struggling with extremely annoying sound stutters. They do not affect the video gameplay in any way but cause a near complete loss of gunfire (changes in amount randomly, usually little gun fire at all) Also i can hear effects like, for instance, an engine powering up for maybe 1/4 of a second before it cuts out, the only sound i have is music and footfalls.
I really can't play the game without the full experience or my view of this excellent game will be tarnished.

Turn Hardware Audio off in your sound settings option. From what I can tell from my experiences with this problem, it's caused by changing the sound volume and/or loading the game in a place with a lot of sound, like Flux. Doing one of those two things after having Hardware Audio turned off can sometimes rebreak the sound and you'll have to turn hardware audio back on restart the game then turn Hardware Audio off again, restart again and then make sure you load in a place with little sound going on.
