She can be, and does an excelent job. Just finished another suicide mission yesterday and used her for the tube run - no one's left behind.
So the only viable choices for the tech specs are Tali, Legion abd Kasumi. Although I find it a waste sending Kasumi or Legion in the tube 'cause they are both superb fighters (Legion for his Widow sniper rifle, Kasumi for her shadow strike)

well he can put up a barrier for himself for the long walk easily but for four people it is much more diffcult. Matraich level biotic are more suited for high level biotics.

Then why samara and jack doesnt have a better protection in the actual game.A higher steady barrier then jacob for example??? That are things that dont really make sense. Its the same with miranda. I doubt seriously someone could be a good leader when half of the team dont trust her as garrus said.

Miranda is a big cheat. She is not trusted BUT good for fire team lead. Even she is unloyal she survives the shot during the second fire team fight. If you, for example bring Jacob as biotic barrier holder for the long-walk and bring a loyal someone AND the unloyal Miranda guess who will die? The loyal one!

I understand that Miranda should be kept alive until the last part because of the script and plot, but this is so cheap. I ... hate ... Miranda. (Especially when she says she is second-in-command. Bah, I want a renegade interrupt there to slap her.)

I you want to get rid of her, take her unloyal to the last bossfight( 100 percent success). I also dont understand why something other couldnt say those little lines.

Wow.

I can almost understand picking Miranda...she says she can do it, she has biotics...

Miranda said she can generate one.  She didn't say she could maintain it.

Samara/Morinth and Jack are the only ones who can maintain the barrier. End of story. Jack is the MOST powerful human biotic of her time and and even though you can choose for her to become a Vanquard instead of an Adept, she is clearly and Adept. Samara/Morinth is an Asari is immediately the most powerful biotic on the team and is obviously an Adept. Miranda is a Sentinel, Jacob is a Vanguard and Thane is a Sentinel. It doesn't matter how cool their biotics seem. Biotics aren't their specialties and they aren't powerful enough.

I always chose Samara as my biotic and Miranda led my teams. I tried letting Zaeed lead the second fire team once because he once co-lead the Blue Suns but I restarted the mission and quickly fixed that mistake
