It seems that dark robes such as this: http://fc04.devianta..._Oogrelkasa.jpg or this http://farm4.static....a2b6c9f.jpg?v=0 are missing from DA. If anyone would like to make something of this sort, it would be greatly appreciated.

Playing a sneaky sort of character (stealth, stealing) without a hood doesn't do it for me, you just keep missing something.

Can imagine mages (especially of the dark sort) and archers would defenitaly want hoods too.

I agree that some robes with hoods would be awesome, or at least make head pieces more like hoods. As a mage, I cry every time I get a new head piece. "Oh look everyone! I shall trade my garish fez for an even more garish fez with feathers!" I'm a master of the arcane! Not a monkey with cymbals!

I would like to see this as well...

Question: i apologize if i'm completely a noob with this question, but i'm having absolutely no luck finding anything on this site. Have people found a way yet to modify models or textures yet? add new items, try changing models for weapons or even tiny little tweaks? Or is it completely impossible to do this yet until more tools from the community are release that allow us to maek things changes in blender or similar program and then import back to DA?

I have been playing with the editor for a while now, and i can't seem to find anything at all reading all documentation and so on that even slightly describes how to manipulate models/textures, yet it has to be possible.......

lol mage headpieces look like jester hats. I just don't use them. sigh

Wynne looks like a conehead with her's.

+1 for hoods. I always wish games had hoods!! But no. And nice hoods, not little red riding hood...hoods. Rogues need lower face covers too.

I agree, it seems very difficult to create new models and textures, I cannot seem to find anywhere where it specifically allows you to import them.

This is what i find so darn strange with all these games that come out that are supposed to be mod friendly and have awesome editing powers and so on and so forth, but the developers can't add an ability to import/export models/textures and edit them??? What?? Some reason when i hear word mod, i'm thinking new textures/models/characters/abilities, etc, etc. Not ... ok let's use this item that already created in game but change stat and put it here with same monster from game and put it here to drop that same item that everyone seen a million times already...

Don't get me wrong, i can't wait to see what people can make... However no idea how disappointed i am to see a game like this with such a apparently powerful editor and absolutely no sign anywhere on how to actually create custom content...

What Gives/!?!

I bet they don't want modders actually creating content because that would take away money from the game, and possibly allow people to re-create things from DLC's and such, i guarantee that is exactly why they will not allow people to create textures/models and so on and so forth, they want to limit you to create mods using existing things from game and pay for any additional content...

really makes me mad that they claim how great modding community in this game will be and not even allow modding community to make anything....

I shoulda figured this is game they would have played, knowing EA is behind it.

I would love a hooded robe too.
Would also love to see someone make the face from the Sacred Ashes vid,

Just so we have a clear idea....

Would love a preset for the whole face as well as add ons to the main CC for just the hair and tat!

I hope that isn't the case. Wouldn't be the first time though. They could make plenty of money offering our custom content to xbox360 and ps3 users.

Yeah, why are there no *hoods*? They're all conical hats and silly looking headpieces. /sigh

i used the toolset to make one of the mage hoods into a rogue piece, but it still had a stupid little thing like a calick on the back. also there was a black area under the hood and above my armor (on the neck) where there was no texture.

Kirby could you upload a picture of the hood so we may see what it looks like?

We use 3DS Max to generate models internally, and unfortunately the scripts we used to export the models into game-usable form had some proprietary third-party stuff in them that we weren't able to get permission to release. We really wanted to, it just turned out to not be possible.

As the next best alternative, we've released the format information for the file types the export scripts converted things into. Hopefully the community will be able to come up with their own exporters without too much trouble from that.

In a couple of the trailers and in the Warden's Quest footage the main character bore a resemblance although I'm not sure if the face was made with the in-game editor.

That could be a while, but at least gives us hope!

In the mean time, any chance you guys can add a hood model to the game file that we can then play with? =)

Or possibly include a hood as an item in the next DLC?

Thanks for this information, it's appricated, and does clear up some missunderstandings. I do hope to see what community can do! (crosses fingers)

I just hope that whatever tool is created by community is good enough to get modders creating some good quality stuff, and nothing that is such a pain to use that no one wants to touch it due to certain limitations, etc.

I really hope I can change the leather and cloth armour in the game, eventually. IMO a lot of game designers really under estimate the importance of having a game's heros and villains actually look heroic and villainous instead of like idiots. The description says 'cowl'. That's 'cowl', not dunce cap.

The mage in the trailer isn't even born on the same planet as the mages in the game..../sigh

Nevrak, sorry haven't checked this in a bit, i deleted it because my armor clips on my male elves backsides now, but deleting it didn't solve anything. so i might as well import it again...

also, i don't know how to upload or post a screen shot on this site so ill have to learn that... any pointers would be appreciated!

you know, looking at it again - its not that bad! i just have no clue how to "fix" the clipping on the neckline and i think it is possibly the thing that triggered the clipping of my backside.

i have the screenshots, now to get them posted...

You can actually modify the color, creating a silverish hood, which will often match armor, as in:
http://social.biowar...11014640390.jpg and http://social.biowar...11014635609.jpg

Do you think you could start this in projects and set it up for downloading?

Also, This could be a pretty cool mod if you could make multiple hoods in different colors.
