You have one healer and one tank to deal with the Revenant while another healer and tank deals with the rest of the group. The rest should be gone fairly quickly, and as soon as they're gone all you need for a Revenant is a single tank and a healer (or just a lot of potions).

Summa sumarum: they are killable, in quite a few ways.

Playing on hard. these guys are impossible. lvl 11 and they come with groups. re to the tarded. cant kite cant melee. anyone have a good strat. Ive tried many. or do you just have to come back later in the game.?
The only thing retarded here is you saying "re to the tarded", it makes you look mentally handicapped... seriously
If you can't melee him then your obviously doing it wrong, do you not have any tanks? or hell any healing? or any potions?????
If you think they're impossible on hard come play on nightmare with me, the first time he was a little tough, but I steamroll through them now along with most other bosses.

They were hard on level 8.
I'm now level 20, and I don't even need healing to kill one.
Each mob has a minimum and maximum level. Between these levels, they will scale to your level. If you're below their minimum level, they'll mess you up.

Damage over time effects work wonder. A dedicated healer does as well. Running in circles, while your ranged characters inflict damages is a possibility. Trapping and stunning also. Having a ton of health potions might be useful.

what lvl are you doing this at. all my stuns/spells/skills are resisted. they are still orange to me. and its on hard. kiting doesnt work too well with his pull effect and melee is tuff with the aoe dot he has around him.
ps love all the rage in this thread when im just trying to find some strats
aww this is what i was looking for. Thanks

I think quite honestly you will need a decidicated healer and a decidated tank with you in order to win. Infact come back with 2 mages that at least can both heal and just autoattack it to death as long as tank is only character in melee range.

I used alot of potions during that fight.
[Edit]
Forgot to mention my main character is also Shield + Sword type. He died about 30% into the fight.

Altough i manage to do it with paralyze, mass paralyze, stun , and miasma to slow them, basically use every stuns and crowd controls ability you have.
I really hope they dont dumb down their next game cause of people not even making any effort to learn the new system.
I keep seeing threads of people complaining about hard fights, it worries me devs could listen to such people who wants an easy hack and slash and everything handled to them on a silver platter like on wow.

I must admit I had to reduce the difficulty when I first encountered one. Those guys are tough!
Not to mention, they have a nasty ability to hit things behind them as well... the one I killed had a 2H weapon, so maybe it was using a 2H ability?
Also, at lower lvls, stuns are resisted, spells are resisted, knockdowns are resisted... good grief, I had my butt handed to me. Did I also mention that at low lvls his hits take like 1/3 of your health? Sheesh!

I'm not on hard or nightmare, but ranged attacks seem to connect often, and fire attacks seem to work very well, like Fire Blast or Flaming Weapons. Maybe it is a difficulty thing, but I never had a fire blast resisted by a revenant. Debuffs however are almost always resisted. Melee miss a good bit, but placing heroic offense on the tank can help them land their attacks and hold aggro.
With a nice small flame crystal in Shale, it should pretty easy dropping a revenant with healing support

The only issue I really have is with the "Pull" and "Mass Pull" spells, but as stated before, Cone of Cold will freeze him and therefore interrupt his casting. Other than that, just have a tank that can keep his attention and either heal him or have him chug chug chug.

Later at lvl 8 I met orange con revenant and after I burned all special arrows, health potions, mana potions (got Wynne before this encounter), all traps, poisons and revenant still had 3/4 health left. I just couldnt get damage done and all spells got resisted. Didn't wanna go back to much earlier save and restock 3 times as much consumables so I had to skip that encounter.

Cast Force Field on your tank when he gets to low health. Seriously. I've done it in a number of fights. It makes the tank immune to damage, and assuming he's been using Threaten and Taunt, the enemies will keep attacking him, even if you attack them. Simply focus fire on the minions one at a time, and once you've got them killed off, finish off the revenant.
Great idea! Gotta try that.
