I've been looking around google and can't seem to find the answer to my question.
Is it possible for me to open up my character I made in character Creator and change his elf ears to point out more in toolset?
His hair goes through it and its very annoying.
If so how? (note I have very little idea what I'm doing in toolset so walk me through it)

Or...

Is it possible to open up a preset and change the ears then import it into the game so I can change it to how I like? My Avatar is the second preset and I want to change his ears

admittedly, the topic title is far from helpful, but the topic currently immediately above this one is discussing how to pull a face out of a save game, modify it then put it back.

in your case though, I would suggest creating a new head morph in the toolset and throwing it into your save game since changing things like the ear positions is not really doable from a mor.

follow these directions here

As far as I know, you can't open a character you did in the character creator with the Toolset. I could be wrong about that, because I'm hardly an expert, but that's how I understand it. The elf ears problem was one of the main reasons I started using the toolset myself. If you need to find the specific settings you can scroll down to "ears" on this one.

That's probably too ridiculously in depth for most people, but I put it out there to show some of the specifics on the object inspector - including the elf ears. Always hated having hair in them, myself.

just an fyi rly...

typowolf - what you say is true, however it is possible using the tool identified in the other thread to pull the mor file out (not the editable mrh), but you CAN modify the mor like most exported files in the toolset. This means you can fairly easily change hair model, eyes, textures, that kind of thing but anything that changes the shape would require some mad number-crunching skills... not recommended!

Ah, thanks, mikemike. I've done that before to get rid of white lines in some of the hair style changes from mods, but I had no idea you even COULD alter ear shapes in there. I don't think I'm brave enough to try it, but it's interesting to know it's possible.
