I had pretty good success with a Shapshifter concentrating on debuffs and crowd control myself. Toss off an early crowd control, shift, clean up enemies, and for boss fight you're loade dwith all of the fun spells that make bosses drop dead fast.
is shape shifter still really bad?

I wouldn't mind at all playing a gimped shapeshifter if I the forms you could take were somehow "cooler". Werewolf form, burning undead form, stone golem and some kind of reptilian creature are only some of my ideas. Must recheck mods on this...

I've always avoided the shape shifter build. I mean you have morrigan who is a shape shifter and she never actually shape shifts. with any of her set ups she never uses the abilities. in fact I don't think it's really worth it, because if morrigan never shape shifts what's the point in making your own mage a shape shifter. just my two cents.
