This may have been done before, in fact I'm fairly certain it has, but oh well.

If you could choose one Shepard of yours to be the one you consider canon (canon for you, not that you want BioWare to declare it canon) what would they be like?

Mine is my first Shepard, I make my choices and tend to react more or less as I would, and then I live with the consequences. Only after that do I plan my choices out for subsiquent playthroughs.

Gender: Male
class: Soldier
Origin: Earthborn
History: Soul Survivor
Disposition: Generally Paragon, but with a mean streak, especially if you ****** him off. He's also very pragmatic. He's disgusted by greed, corporate and personal, more than anything.

-Mass Effect- (I con't remember all the NPC names)

Romance: Liara
Council: Saved - actually I was saving the Destiny, being the pragmatist I knew a warship that size was going to be useful in the war with the Reapers.
Rachni: Saved
Wrex: Alive
Virmire: Kaiden dead
Tali Mission: Gave device
Wrex Mission: Gave armor
Garrus Mission: Killed Doctor
Nirali corpse: Told husband to let tests continue
Major Kyle: Persauded
Biotic terrorist on freighter(can't remember his name): Killed
Cerberus scientist resonsible for Akuze: Killed
Earthborn Mission: Paragon persuade
Gianna: helped (wanted to kill Anoleis)
Zhu's Hope: Saved as many as I could but run out of grenades
Green Thorian Asari(can't remember name): Executed
Kirrahea: dead
Helena Blake: alive
Conrad: Paragon Persuasion
Fist: Dead
Saren: Paragon Persaude
Sex with Shiara: No
Everything else: Paragon

-Mass Effect 2-

Romance: Tali
Councilor: Anderson
Collector Base: Destroyed
Suicide Mission Casualties: Mordin (tubes), Jack, Thane (holding the line)
Chakwas & Crew: Alive
Grunt: Left in tank
Legion Mission: Heretics killed
Tali Mission: Paragon persuade
Miranda Mission: Done
Garrus Mission: Done, shot Harkin
Mordin mission: Destroyed cure
Thane Mission: Skipped
Jack Mission: Skipped
Jacob Mission: Paragon response
Samara Mission: Killed Morinth
Told Aria about Blue Sun plot: Yes
Liara Mission: Failed (I told her to kill the Batarian Image IPB, oops)
Mordins assistant hold by Batarians: Dead (batarians dead too)
Man pushed out window during Thane recruit: Yes
Let sick Batarian die during Garrus recruit: Yes
Veetor: Given to Tali
Kal'reegar: Alive
Watson Anomoly: Saved residential area, sacrificed spaceport
Ceberus Documents taken from Blue Suns: Given to Alliance
Most everything else was Paragon responses

Gotcha. Let me do my shepard.

Maximus Shepard.

Male, Light Brown Hair, Dark brown beard,

tried to make him look young and handsome.

He was Earthborn, and a punk kid, hang with the wrong crowd. When he turned 18, he atoned and joined the Systems Alliance, Where Max turned from petty criminal, to hero of the Skyllian Blitz.

Maximus has seen his fair share of hell in his time. He devotes his life to helping others, making peace.

However, should you make him angry, you will meet hell.

CHOICES AND STUFF

ME1:

Left Ashley to die on Virmire

Saved the Rachni

Saved the Council

Appointed Anderson

Got Wrex his armor

helped Garrus with Dr. Saelon

Saved Wrex

Helped Tali with her pilgrimage

It's been a while, but here goes...

Mass
Effect I

Lydia Shepard

  • Adept
  • Colonist
  • War Hero
  • More paragon than renegade, though often for PR/Machiavellian
    reasons:innocent:

Main Plot

  • Romance: none; I needed Ashley more than Kaidan
  • Council Relations: always polite; never helps to ****** off the
    bosses even if they're obnoxious
  • Rachni: released, but dearly wished I could let the Council or
    Alliance
    decide
  • Wrex: paragoned into calming down on Virmire
  • Virmire Sacrifice: sorry, Kaidan, but I'm a biotic and Ashley's a
    soldier - babysit the nuke
  • Saren: paragon persuaded
  • Council End Battle: saved; I could not see the Asari, Salarians,
and Turians standing with humanity against the Reapers after leaving
    their main leaders to die

Side Plots

  • Emily Wong: paragon helped with her reports
  • Gianna: paragon helped
  • Green Thorian Asari: convinced to help colonists
  • Kirrahea: alive
  • Wrex: gave him his family armor
  • Zhu's Hope: colonists saved
  • Zhu's Hope: paragon persuaded ExoGeni to keep colony as good PR
  • Presidium Prophet: paragon convinced the Presidium Hanar to leave;
too broke to waste credits on it
  • Conrad: paragon
  • Asari Consort: paragon helped; took only the Prothean object
  • Doctor Michel: stopped blackmail without violence
  • Family Matter: paragoned Michael to respect Rebekah's wishes
  • Homecoming: paragoned husband to let Alliance keep wife's body
  • Terra Firma: refused to give endorsement as an Alliance officer
  • Negotiator's Request: paragoned drug addict into letting the
assistant work; too important a meeting to let a meth-head steer
  • Interview: paragon answered half the questions; refused to
    disclose mission details
  • Garrus: paragoned into taking Dr. Saleon alive
  • Noveria: refused to spy
  • Noveria: smuggled the armor - credits
  • Tali: gave her the Geth data
  • Nassana: had already encountered her sister, so her lies unneeded
  • Seriously angry over Admiral Kahoku and determined to bring down
    Cerberus.  Irony's a b****.
  • Cerberus Scientists: paragoned Toombs into turning scientist into
    authorities
  • ExoGeni Facility: refused bribe
  • Hades' Dogs: kept information from Shadow Broker
  • Hostage: paragoned captor into turning self and hostage into
    authorities
  • Helen Blake: killed after she refused to surrender
  • Fist: Wrex killed him
  • Major Kyle: paragoned him into coming peacefully
  • Kirrahe: fully assisted and he lived
Phew...ME2 in a different post...

Isaac Shepard

Male. Soldier. Colonist. Ruthless. Hates Batarians.

Can become obsessive over his goals and maintains that whatever happens, the mission always comes first. He went out of his way to gain loyalty and ship upgrades only so the mission had a higher success rate. However, this hasn't stopped him from engaging in relationships with Ashley and Miranda. He genuinely cared for Ashley, but her actions on Horizon pretty much spurred him to end it. He's on the fence with Miranda, as after Ashley, he isn't quick to trust someone like that again.

He obsessivly pursued Saren and killed the Rachni Queen. He let the Council die as he saw no reason to sacrifice human forces, and appointed Anderson as Chairman, as he hates Udina for stabbing him in the back.

On the subject of Cerberus, he has no personal reason to hate them, but distrusts TIM. However, he spared the Collector Base as it seemed like the only practical thing to do, but warned TIM against getting too ambitious. He figures that he'll eventually have to put TIM in his place, but is looking at the Reaper threat as the only thing worth thinking about right now.

He may sound like a dick, but he isn't incapable of compassion. He can be spontaneous with his actions, and may make the occasional Paragon action, as he has a strict moral code and anyone that violates it he makes a point of putting them in their place. Also, like me, he suffers from bipolar disorder, so sometimes, even he doesn't know what actions he'll take.

He's an unapologetic renegade. Certainly he's more badass than I am, but over all I agree with this actions and beliefs. I have him break character a bit for romance in ME2, otherwise he'd probably stick with Ashley or nobody. (Tali's too nice for him)

My Renegade is a...

Sociopath. Renegade but charming enough to pull a pretty convincing paragon whenever it would fit his needs. (Was actually surprised I had the choice to Paragon or Renegade the Tali/Legion conflict right before the Collector Base.) Highly manipulative, but with remarkable foresight, he chooses his romance option on the basis of who would serve his needs best. His key motivation for 'the greater good', hammered into him in his childhood in the hopes of turning him into a productive citizen, is a secret fear that if he doesn't do the greater good, he'll be hunted down and slaughtered like malevolent sociopaths.

My Paragon is a...

Misanthrope. Mindoir proved to her that the Alliance didn't want to/wouldn't protect the colonies: Akuze proved that it couldn't protect itself. With a quiet hatred of the Alliance and Humanity as a political unit, she has a desperate idealization of the Council and it's projected idealism. An idealist herself, she always seems to be a Paragon when it helps aliens, and less so when it helps human interests. She destroyed the Collector Base not because it killed a lot of humans, but because it could have given Human Dominance over the galaxy.

My Paragade/Renagon is a...

Cerberus Loyalist. A navy brat graduated biotic adept, she grew up knowing she would work for humanity... and knew a few people who knew some people who could let her do that better. Akuze was the first, and almost her last, mission for Cerberus (how do you think she survived?), and one that left her with scars that aren't quite what most people think. Having come to shaky terms with what she did as necessary, ugly, and not something she would do again, she's very much a human first person, but plenty happy to help aliens as long as it doesn't harm human interests. A secret member of Cerberus, her selection as the first human Spectre candidate was a coup in Cerberus's secret war for human advancement, and the Illusive Man sent a personal congratulatory note at the benefits of saving the Council. (She saved the base without pause later, though.) Generally confident, she does have a shaky faith in her own status and morality, taking reassurement in a brief courtship with the virtuous Kaiden (before his death at Virmire), and is currently appreciating the solace of stability with fellow biotic Jacob Taylor. (She does, however, hesitate about revealing to him the truth of her long-term Cerberus employ, and has occasional fits of doubt about how much she projects Kaiden onto him.)

(Fun note: playing this through in ME2, it's amazing how easily you can fit in a 'I was Cerberus's secret agent' into the dialogue implications of the script.)

Personally, I have a paragon and renegade playthrough, and then the one where I play the game according to my own opinions and such. So obviously that's my "favorite" Shepard.

ME1
-- Earthborn, Ruthless. I realize this makes her kind of a total ****, but hey, whatever. Earthborn was badass, and War Hero and Sole Survivor seemed too cheesy.
-- Mostly paragon, with a bit of a renegade streak.
-- Let the Rachni queen go
-- Tried to keep as many Feros colonists alive, really, but did not have enough grenades.
-- Let Balak go in Bring Down the Sky. Stupid, stupid decision, but I didn't want to fight him all over again.
-- Let the Alliance keep Nirali Bhatia's body for study
-- Killed Nassana's sister before she even asked me to
-- Found a bunch of insignias and minerals and all that, but did not have the patience to actually finish
-- Killed Dr. Saleon
-- Gave Tali the information on the geth
-- Got Wrex his family armor
-- Romanced Kaidan
-- Didn't say two words to Liara, very confused/flattered after reading the Redemption comic.
-- Paragon'd Saren to kill himself
-- Saved the Council

ME2
-- Still mostly paragon, but with more renegade than in ME1
-- Really didn't mind working for Cerberus. For a while, at least, since they were fighting the good fight. Picking the paragon dialogue options while talking to TIM made me feel pretty silly.
-- Flirted with Kelly just so she would feed my goddamn fish. Forcing myself back after every single mission to feed them myself was ridiculous.
-- Kept Mordin's potential genophage cure data; not because I really want to cure it, but like Shepard says during the loyalty misision: "Better to have it and not need it."
-- Made Miranda talk to her sister. Anyone not do this?
-- Left Jacob's dad to the hunters
-- Destroyed Keiji's graybox
-- Destroyed the facility on...what was it, Zorya? Figured killing the leader of the Blue Suns was worth it (along with Zaeed's loyality)
-- Helped Samara, killed Morinth. Sorry, Sigrun..
-- Killed Sidonis
-- Made Kolyat work with Colonel Tigh, uhhhhh, Captain Bailey. Let Talid go.
-- Sent David to Grissom Academy. Another decision that was really difficult to make.
-- Paragon'd through the arguments
-- Paragon'd Tali's trial. Renegade-ing through it was hilarious, though.
-- Kept Kal'Reegar alive, obviously. Adam Baldwin is just way badass.
-- Re-wrote the geth. It seems like that should have been the renegade route, but whatever.
-- Stayed "faithful" to Kaidan. Totally romanced Garrus on a different playthrough, though.
-- No One Left Behind
-- Kept the Collector base. Duh.

And here's my way-long part two.

Mass Effect II

Lydia Shepard

  • Adept
  • Colonist
  • War Hero
  • Mostly paragon, but steadily becoming more renegade; she has all
sentient life to save, you know?
  • Pale, green eyes, auburn hair

As both a Mindoir colonist and a war hero, Lydia knows that military
powers and the Council can not/will not protect everyone.  She loathes
horrible people who are high ranking in
governments/companies/institutions, but she also recognizes societies
will never work without these institutions.  A few obnoxious or "bad"
individuals do not make her give all authority figures the middle
finger.  Practical in relationships with large, powerful entities, she
shows her paragon roots on a personal level, helping those she sees as
innocent.  She sometimes sees the most just, compassionate,
"paragon"
decision as the one to execute those who do wrong before they can harm even more
people.

Lydia may also have a deep dislike for a character or squad mate, but
can usually set aside personal feelings for the sake of her mission.
While she acts friendly with most, she trusts few.

Main Plot

  • Romance: none
  • Friends: Garrus, Tali, Kasumi, Joker, and Chakwas
  • Council Relations: polite - don't give them more ammo against Shep; all
species must stand together against Reapers
  • Councilor: David Anderson
  • Wrex: alive
  • Virmire Casualty: Kaidan
  • Garrus Mission: saved Harkin for Garrus' sake
  • Grunt: left in tank; not enough data
  • Jack Mission: saved Aresh
  • Jacob Mission: left Ronald for Alliance
  • Kasumi Mission: destroyed the box
  • Legion Mission: activated; destroyed heretics for both ethical and
    pragmatic reasons
  • Miranda Mission: saved Niket and encouraged a relationship with Oriana
  • Mordin Mission: Maelon died - used live test subjects without showing
any signs of remorse or indication he would not continue; destroyed test
    data - now it's just Mordin's problem
  • Samara Mission: chose Samara over Morinth
  • Tali Mission: gave her a hug, hid her father's tape, and paragoned the
    judges into a pardon
  • Thane Mission: saved Kolyat's target and paragoned community service
  • Zaeed Mission: disgusted by disobedience and complete disregard for
innocent life for not-even-guaranteed revenge; could have paragon
persuaded at the end and didn't<_<
  • Paragon persuaded Legion and Tali to not kill each other.
  • Suicide Mission Casualties: Jack and Zaeed
  • Chakwas and Crew: saved
  • Collector Base: with the available options, destroyed; but seriously,
why was there no "keep base but do not give to TIM"?
Lesser Plots

  • Polite to Kelly though she creeps Shep out.
  • Polite to EDI; even if EDI does turn out to be the evil Overlord, why
would she give the entity who controls the ship the middle finger?
  • Got all the crew member presents.
  • Sent Veetor with Tali.
  • Paragon convinced Synthetic Insights to hire the quarian; no problem
    with indentured servitude.
  • Liara Mission: hacked terminals; correctly guessed spy.
  • Paragon convinced for no tests on Zhu's hope colonists.
  • Helped quarian shop keeper.
  • Paragon killed Batarian barkeep.
  • Kept Kal'Reegar alive.
  • Saved Mordin's assistant Daniel and let Batarians leave.
  • Fought as Patriarch's krant.
  • Told Aria about plots; Omega sucks, but at the moment it's stable and
the leader could be useful.  Shooed off Ish.
  • Paragon motivated Krogan scout.
  • Paragon verbal beat down for reporter.
  • Stood up for accused quarian.
  • Kept any Cerberus data for self; plan to send it to the Alliance when I
    no longer need Cerberus.
  • Saved space port during missile strike.

Miscellaneous Paragon/Renegade Triggers

  • Shut down Veetor's screen
  • Medigel batarian
  • Saved teen mercenary
  • Killed the Blue Eclipse mercenary
  • "You're working too hard"
  • Renegade crispy krogans

I fantasize about playing a Shepard who is a female Doctor Who. Oh, the glory! The magnificence!

But the game will not let me roleplay a female Doctor Who... oh, the shame... the tragedy... the waste...

One day! One day, I will find a videogame that lets me roleplay a female Doctor Who! I will ride around in a telephone box time machine with exquisite interior decorating and a hot male "companion", chattering on about "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" all day long!

But this thread isn't about that...

At a glance, you'd think my main character is extremely paragon. A big believer in second chances and the benefit of the doubt. Rachni Queen lives. Shiala lives. Even tried to talk Saren into fighting Sovereign's indoctrination one last time. All the typical paragon choices.

But this is the character that also sacrificed the Council to concentrate on Sovereign. Blew up the Heretics. Kept the Collector Base. Told Kasumi to keep the greybox not because it was what Kasumi wanted, but because Shepard wants to know what the information is.

Goes out of the way to help members of the crew simply because they're Shepard's crew. Show dedication to the mission and don't get in Shepard's way, then you'll find an advocate when you need it. Even if Shepard doesn't like you very much -- all because you're part of the team.

Also thinks bowties are cool.

Spacer/War Hero/Paragon

Born on a colony to parents who were also part of the military. At 18 enlisted to follow in his parents foot steps. Hero of the Blitz. Black hair with no ficial hair since I hate ficial hair.

He always tries to be nice because he hates being mean to people if he doesnt have to. Although a paragon he does not hesitate to kill the enemy. He will show mercy to low level criminals who don't seem to pose a threat, but for the major villians such as Saren he has no problem taking them out for the good of the galaxy. When it comes to missions he does his best to make sure everyone gets a chance to leave the Normandy so everyone feels they are contributing to the mission. He cares about his crew and talks to them in his spare time to see how they are doing and get to know them, also will do anything for them with few exceptions. He did not gain Zeead's loyalty because he would not let people die. Overall he is dedicated to saving the galaxy and stopping the reapers.

Choices:

ME1

Romance: none

Council: Dead, it was a hard choice but could not let Sovereign own the citadel.

Rachni: Saved

Wrex: Dead

Virmire: Ashley dead

Nirali corpse: gave him his wife's body back

Zhu's Hope: Saved as many as I could but run out of grenades

Green Thorian Asari(can't remember name): Alive

Kirrahea: dead

Fist: Alive

Everything else: Paragon

-Mass Effect 2-

Romance: Miranda, although now I regret and wished I choose Tali

Councilor: Anderson

Collector Base: Kept

Suicide Mission Casualties: None

Chakwas & Crew: Alive

Legion Mission: Heretics re written

Tali Mission: Paragon persuade

Miranda Mission: Done

Garrus Mission: Done,

Mordin mission: Kept cure

Thane Mission: done

Jack Mission: done

Jacob Mission: Paragon response

Samara Mission: Killed Morinth

Man pushed out window during Thane recruit: no

Let sick Batarian die during Garrus recruit: no

Veetor: Given to Tali

Kal'reegar: Alive

Ceberus Documents taken from Blue Suns: Given to Alliance

Most everything else was Paragon responses
