I'm loving Mass Effect, but I keep getting the start or end of a line of conversation cut off, and sometimes it will stutter in the middle of the dialogue too. I prefer to play without subtitles, and so far the cuts don't seem to have made any sentences impossible to understand, but it's still a big frustration that I'd love to remedy. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue?

Never had the cut off dialog problem, but I did have stuttering audio problems with ME1 in the past. Making sure Hardware audio was deactivated and manually editing the number of channels in BIOEngine.ini fixed it.
Here, I digged out my old post on the previous forums :
Might not be the same problem, but it's worth a try.

First, make sure Hardware Audio is turned off in the game options.
Next,
open your BIOEngine.ini in your "My Documents\\Bioware\\Mass
Effect\\Config\\" folder. (I'd also recommend making a backup of the
file, just in case)
Under the "[ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice]"
line, find "MaxChannels=" and "TotalAvailableChannels=". If the value
for MaxChannels isn't 64, change it to 64 and change
TotalAvailableChannels to 62.
Might not be the same problem, but it's worth a try.
