No. No MMORPG, for God's sakes.

Seriously, MMOs kill chances for  the original non-MMO game to have sequels. World of Warcraft basically assured that there will be no Warcraft IV, only a World of Warcraft 2.

An MMO in the MAss Effect universe would surely kill it more than the Reapers ever could.

I loved the Warcraft universe playing warcraft 1, 2, 3 when they all came out. when WOW came out I knew I would never see any more RTS games coming out of that universe again, so far I am right. Apply that to Mass Effect I can expect to see no more single player rpg/shooter game coming out after an MMO.

btw I dont think it will happen anyways, bioware has TOR coming out as an MMO, to create a Mass Effect MMO would be more resources, staff in managing two MMOs and we can surely kiss our future bioware games goodbye. Also Mass Effect MMO would have to compete with their other MMO TOR which really makes no sense!

The only way I see it going down is if TOR flops in a couple years and that same team decides to make mass effect MMO but that wouldnt be till a couple years AFTER ME3 came out which puts it around 2014 2015 at the earliest.

btw: WoW is cancer, I would shed not one tear if it would disappear tomorrow...

Personally, I'd cry a lot actually, simply because that would mean all the WoW fanatics would flood the other (immersive) MMO's. Age of Conan could be an example. Please let WoW continue so I don't have to deal with the large part of its fanbase.

As for ME being an MMO: I entertain the idea, but I do not think the industry is ripe for an ME MMO. If it would come out within 5 years, I'd only be inclined to play it if there were dedicated, strictly-enforced RP-servers. The same goes for Dragon Age btw.
Also, if there were to be an online ME universe, I hope none of the characters we know from the current game series would even exist, other than in our memories. It would either have to be far in the future from the single player games, or back to the past like KotOR did (which doesn't give much room considering the timeline of ME so far).

Considering these things, I would love to see an MMO based on the Mass Effect IP. If done in a non-conventional way, it may just be that one MMO all other MMO's failed to become. BioWare may well be up to the task, in about 10 years or more.

Did you seriously just call AoC an immersive MMO?

Here's the problem with asking this question, there really aren't a lot of people who don't feel strongly one way or the other.  So those who like MMO's will say yes they'd play a ME MMMO and those who don't like MMO's will say no they would not play one and creating one would destroy everything about ME, and neither side is going to convince the other side.

I don't think there should be Mass Effect MMO, if it doesn't stay true to the lore and forget catering towards players who don't care about it's universe, just the thrills the loot and the ''achievements'' give.

I hold little to no ill towards WoW, the game is alright sure I preferred the RTS games, but still. WoW is alright, the players are the issue and just because you get your relationships ****ed up when playing a game too much, it's not the game's fault. It is your fault.

I am waiting TOR and hoping they come up with something fresh and won't let whiney children ruin it with requests that have little thought put into them.

Nah, just keep the mass effect universe alive with great single player games. I do wish Bioware great success with TOR. Then, thataways, maybe they will invest some of the proceeds into making KOTOR 3. Because, I really want the "exhile" and "revan" to rendezvous in the dark regions of space to take on the "true sith lords."

No, I did not call AoC an immersive MMO, I said it *could* be seen as an example for what an immersive MMO could be; and in the current MMO market it covers a niche of having a relatively engaging storyline and playing on a dedicated RP-server helps things along in that regard. However: despite me mentioning AoC as a possible example, it does not mean whatsoever that I am convinced this is *the* model for any upcoming ME franchise. It merely means that I enjoy AoC in a way I did not enjoy WoW, Aion, Anarchy Online or GuildWars (which I think are all respectable MMO's, just not when it comes to storylines). This, as you also essentially say, is a matter of opinion. And opinions should be respected, regardless of your own opinion or if you can see the other's motivation or not.

As for ME being an MMO? My opinion is: not right now. Give it 10 years to let the market develop and see then if ME would be able to deliver a similar immersive experience on a multiplayer RPG platform in a way current MMO's fail.

No. Never liked the concept of the MMO universe and never will. I believe in paying ONCE to own and play the game. Not paying to purchase the software and then paying AGAIN to be able to use it.

this is my idea of a mass effect MMO. first of all it will take place after the reaper threat, where all the species of the galaxy will be in peace, execpt there's still crime. now when u create ur character, u can choose from: humans, turians, krogan, salarians, asari, qur'ians, geth( no batarian explaine later). now 4 each race there will be a cerian classes for each race u can chose from. 4 xample: humans can choose any class, salarians can chose between soldier or engineer, turians can b a soldier or an infaltraitor, krogans can be either a soldier or a vanguard, asari can b an adept, sentinal, or a vanguard, and a quer'ian can be a soldier or an engineer, etc. now then comes personal history, again depends on race, like if u choose a turian, theres: high ranked blu suns merc, C-Sec officer, or Lt. on the Citidel fleat. There would be no competidive gameplay, but co-op only, like bring friends on missions. now to bcome a specter, u need 2 do a very special deed 2 do. no ammount of missions completed nor levels can earn u dat.

This one believes that the Hanar are a nominal idea for a player race.

Asari dancer class anyone? Oh wait SWG already has that...

Seriously, while an MMORPG of the Mass Effect world MIGHT be interesting, there's just not that much THREAT in the world for one...  I mean, how do you TOP The Reapers?
