Somehow I believe I had a miscalculation so I figured I would toss up a question. If I bring in Miranda and Garrus to the final boss fight, will I be able to keep everyone alive?

If you left Grunt and Zaeed to hold the line and used all the proper squadmates for the specific roles before that, yes.

Hello SM guru's, I'm about to start my evilshep playthrough and I don't know how to get everyone killed that I want to. Is it possible to have only my Shep, Miranda, and jacob to survive? Will I have to skip recruitments or anything? If not, what is the easiest way to beat the SM with only me and 2 other people surviving?

Pro-Cerberus!

If you don't want the Normandy crew to live, don't send an escort, keep Jacob holding the line with Miranda and Mordin. I believe Mordin will still die.

Oh yeah, and if you recruit Zaeed after the mission, be sure not to walk too close to him on your way into Omega, otherwise it automatically cuts to your conversation with him.

Upon a second look, I think you can still recruit Zaeed before the mission instead of saving him for last. When you do his loyalty mission, take the paragon path and don't persuade loyalty for him.

Hold the Line: Jacob, Miranda, Mordin, unloyal Tali --> HtL score = 1.25 --> Mordin and Tali die
Final Boss: Samara and Zaeed, both unloyal, both die

ECAEL! Only thing probably needs updating are the scenarios where the HtL score has exceptions. (Typically when 2 squadmates are holding the line, I think.)

I did both Tali's and Legion's loyalty quests after exiting the dormant reaper, meaning right before going on the suicide mission. I only saw the colonist Lilith die. So I think you can do 2 missions before suicide mission.

Proud to say that I got the "No one left behind" achievement without seeing any of the end game walkthrough, tips etc. Common sense is good enough :)

Would like to try a sad ending on my 2nd playthrough tho

Generally you can as that is the normal limit before the Abduction scene kicks in, although there are instances which can sometimes cause it to occur before that. I think the main thing to remember is if you are recruiting Legion, you need to go speak to him straight after the cut-scene with Jacob and Miranda to gain his loyalty mission.

How does this one turn out: Mordin, Legion, Morinth holding the line, all loyal? I'd think Mordin would die but a previous (not identical) playthrough left mordin alive when the math says he shouldn't have been. So what happens with that set?

(assuming the boss team of Garrus and Miranda lives, and all 7 other death scenes are triggered.  a final team of 5 might could be okay)

Mordin will die. 3 squadmates so need 6 points to get 2.0 and you only got 5 points (Mordin 1, the other 2 = 2)

Yeah but I did a run with Unloyal Tali, Loyal Mordin, Loyal Morinth, Loyal Legion, and only tali died, mordin somehow made it through. i should have lost tali AND mordin but I didn't, which makes me wonder if just the 3 loyals there will still survive...I think it'll need testing on that basis..

There are issues with the HtL score referenced in the first post that we haven't been able to figure out yet. It generally works, but it especially falls short when you have just 2 holding the line and people have pointed out several times when it doesn't fully work with 3 holding the line. Some suspect the escort/final boss squadmates might have something to do with it. Some suspect the value needed for full survival changes depending on how many squadmates are holding the line. Need more data. Need more experiments FOR SCIENCE!

Yes and not forgetting potential glitch morinth can cause. I had a playthrough where morinth and mordin survived as diversion leader and it wasn't due to the 3 squadmates needed rule because I had 4 others going through. Even when I got morinth swarmed (only possible with Miranda as other squaddie as guide states) mordin still survived

Okay, because I'm weird, and like doing things weird, there are a few missions that I'm purposely saving until after the SM. The Omega 4 thread has gotten much better since I last visited (kudos!) and I think I have a plan, let me know what you think -

Vents - Kasumi (L)
Biotic - Jack (L)
Fire Team (1&2) - Garrus (L)
Escort - Mordin (L)
Boss Fight - Kasumi (L) and Jack (L)

Hold the Line - Grunt (L), Zaeed (L), Garrus (L), Thane (L), Legion, Samara, Jacob, Tali.

If I'm doing it right, that puts me at a 2.0 HTL score, and everyone should live, yes?

Pretty much, Think i allways send either Tali or mordin back with the crew then have the other come with me during the last fight.

Okay, here's my issue.  I've been thinking of a way to do all loyalty missions and still have Shepard die.  I thought I had the way to do it with only three unloyals, but the hold the line part got screwed up.  Here's the deal, everyone dead before the final boss except unloyal Miranda, unloyal Legion, loyal Samara, loyal Mordin, and loyal Tali.  Naturally, I take Miranda and Legion with me to the boss, leaving Samara, Mordin, and Tali behind on the line.  According to the OP, that would make my Hold the Line score 1.33, which is less than 1.5, which causes two squadmates to die.  Yet somehow, only one died (Mordin).  What's the dealio?

You've missed Miranda from your list ;)

That said, if she is Loyal then your plan will still work :wizard:

@WizardryForever As previously stated by Pacifien with regards to having only 2-3 on the line, there is still some speculation as to the rulebook that Ecael and co (including Pacifien) going out of the window for some reason or other. Don't forget also that there is the whole thing as to whether the Escort and 'Final Squadmates' survive or not ;)

One other thing to point out, as am aware you know you can botch up Samara's mission, why not try that? I know your trying to do it with most squadmates loyal but IIRC Ecael setup a mission runthrough where all loyalty quests done but obviously messed up the ones that could be and that worked.

Agreed. I had no idea about the parameters of this mission or even the overall importance of Loyalty and Upgrades to the survival factors. I just played the game through and used my noggin from my first undead limping steps to the endgame Omega 4 clusterf*ck mission and got everyone out alive on veteran mode.

I will use this as a guide though on my current Hardcore run as it's alot nastier.

What if morinth just has a different score than samara? Might that be why she's giving out weird results?  Or maybe the pre-requisite score is influenced by something?

Tali and Garrus
Modifications w/o Kasumi - Legion will die without the shields instead. If you want the crew to live, send an unloyal Zaeed back with them. If you want the crew to die, take Garrus and Zaeed to the final boss fight, leaving Tali with Miranda and Samara. As they're unloyal, Miranda and Samara will die before Tali.

Tali, Garrus, Legion
Modifications w/o Kasumi - Get the Shield upgrade for the Normandy. If you want the crew to die, take Samara and Miranda to the final boss fight. Kill Zaeed during his loyalty mission.

Morinth's score is the same as Samara's - Dusty Everman stated there are only three levels of defense strengths with a +1 for loyalty. Until I have an idea of what the other factor giving us odd results might be, don't even know what I could test.
