If you do his loyalty mission after Omega4, you can leave him to burn assuming you took the paragon path.

Interesting, I always assumed the character that dies from being captured by the seeker swarm to be determined by the position the characters start in at the beginning of that part (left or right of Shepard), as that usually also determines their positions in cutscenes (Miranda being the only exception here).

Also interesting to see how acquiring Kasumi actually decreases your chances of everyone surviving the final part of the mission...

Very interesting! Thanks for making this guide. I think it's rather strupid that the "Hold the Line"-section is based on an average value. How can an additional gun be a bad thing? But ok, i'm happy to know how it actually works now.

Thanks - all the number crunches were especially helpful. Now I have a certain squad member's demise to script...

It's an additional gun, but it's also an additional person that can get gunned down.

At least, that's how I'd explain it.

Two things I haven't figured out yet (which aren't significant) are who Shepard catches as the platform falls and who helps Shepard up at the ship.

Small question: can I make complete loyalty missions even after finishing the game? I know I can make secondary missions but can I just leave Legion's loyalty quest for later so that half of my crew doesn't die?

Yes, as long as you set it up so that no one dies holding the line (2.0+ hold the line average or greater) or at the final boss/escort.

If Legion is the only non-loyal, he will be the first to die at holding the line if your "grade" isn't high enough.

I had a playthrough one time where I used Jack as the first fire team leader, Jacob for the vents, Mordin as the escort, Garrus as the second fire team leader, and Thane for the bubble. Mordin and Jacob were unloyal among a couple of the others. I did not activate Legion.

The only ones that died were Jacob in the vents (headshot closing the door), Mordin who escorted, and Grunt by a seeker swarm.

Hold the Line becomes easier for everyone to survive the fewer people there are. It's weird, but that's the way it works. It appears you only missed a few opportunities to get people killed.

Ecael,

What I thought was strange was that Jack didn't die as the first team leader.

The Tech Specialist dies in that situation, the first fire team leader never dies.

Ok, I believe I know the answer to this, but just to make sure.  Even if the tech specialist is loyal and the appropriate one for the job(Kasumi, Tali, Legion), she/it still dies if either Jacob, or Garrus, or Miranda is not the 1st team leader?

Yes. For some reason.

They're bad at ordering people to provide cover fire, apparently. Although they should have just had the tech specialist get hit by the Harbinger bolt without the door jamming if they were loyal Tali, Kasumi or Legion.

Great guide. Question about final cutscene though.

Is it possible to dictate who shep catches while falling on the platform? I want to get my femshep doing bicep curls lifting falling krogan :)

Next project: is there an order that dictates who Shepard catches on the platform and who catches Shepard on the Normandy?

I've had my Shepard catch Grunt before. Guess all that extra krogan weight makes him fall easier. Good think Cerberus upgraded Shepard a bit 'cause I don't think a normal human could have caught him.

Okey, few question.

A) Can Legions loyalty quest done, without some crew members dying?

B) If I will have this squad structure, can I survey without deads.

1. Jacob (loyal), First and second team leader
2. Miranda
3. Grunt
4. Garrus
5. Jack (loyal) Bionic expert and the end boss
6. Mordin (loyal) Escort
7. Tali (loyal) Vent expert and the end boss

C) I assume that no loyal squad members dies at end boss?

A) Yes. Save the Derelict Reaper mission until the very last, after you've recruited and done the loyalties of everyone else. After you've obtained the IFF, do not go to the Galaxy Map. Head straight for the AI core to activate Legion. After you have your first conversation with him, speak to him again. He will give you his loyalty mission. You will be able to finish that loyalty mission and then you'll get the shuttle sequence that precedes the crew getting kidnapped.

B) Your Hold the Line average score is 2.25. Everyone should live.

C) Correct.

Yes and even get him to flottila in Tali loyalty quest and have LI with her.

1st do all recruitment and loyalty missions( except Tali's) before going to IFF mission
2nd activate Legion
3rd do Tali loyalty mission with Legion( make sure you have enough Paragon or Renagade points, but you probably at that point have more then enough)
4th make sure Tali is loyal in that mission( Paragon or Renegade speech or raise crowd)
5th talk to Tali, then do Legion loyalty mission
6th choose both sides in Tali/Legion arguement( enough Paragon points if you brainwash Heretics or Renegade if you blow them up, very possible you have enough at that point)
7th talk to Tali and start romance
8th crew abducted, talk to Tali to confirm romance
9th go to Omega 4 Relay, start Suicide Mission and everyone lives( if you upgraded everything, did all good decisions and give to crew escort)
