Thanks for this guide. I remember on my first playthrough I had Mordin hold the line because I remembered that speech on Virmire. haha.

If you appoint him for the diversion team (aka "Fire Team #2") leader, he dies with words: "Tell them... I held the line!..."

In my own sadistic way, I do love hearing various teammates final words if they die as the diversion team leaders. Mordin's is great. So is his "actually, quite balmy" statement if you use him as a tech.

Jack's is a bit gutwrenching to me: "How'd you talk me into this? I wasn't supposed to care."

Zaeed's is badass to the end: "Figured it end something like this."

Jacob goes with that bro vibe: "You finish up without me, alright?"

Grunt sticks with the sentiment of all krogan: "Good fight, Shepard. Good fight."

Legion's manages to make me a bit sad, repeating "No carrier... No carrier..." That's right, my good Geth. Seeing "no carrier" used to make me cry back in the day, too.

I think the only one I didn't like was Garrus's. "Snipe one for me?" You're about to die and all you can think about is that final perfect headshot? Good thing you didn't get the Widow, buddy, or else you'd never even consider a romance with a female Shepard as you fondled the sniper rifle in your sleep every night.

Zaeeds death line was the best out of those listed.

LI have special dialogue for death there.

Even Garrus since he was originally made to fail at Fire team #2.

That's only if Thane's your LI. Everything else is a generic "There were too many. Shields couldn’t hold up".

To be honest, there were a lot more lines than Garrus' that really disappointed me. Mostly the generic "Shield's couldn't hold" lines. Tali's unromanced sticks out in my mind.

Of course it's only for a romanced Thane. Apparently Thane is one of the few who have romance-driven dialog if killed during the suicide mission. I believe the other two are Jack and maybe Jacob.

How to survive Suicide Mission if you didn't do any loyalty missions with/without any/certain upgrades and with/without DLC charter/characters?

ETA: Crap, this doesn't work 'cause Legion dies twice.

Easier than you'd think. You need at least eight crewmembers to start the mission. Say they're Garrus, Grunt, Jack, Jacob, Legion, Miranda, Mordin, and Tali.

No Armor -> Jack dies
No Shields -> Legion dies
No Weapons -> Garrus dies
Tech -> unloyal Tali dies
Skip the escort
Biotic Shield -> Use Jacob, take Grunt and Legion, Legion dies [ETA: Yes, Legion died twice. Didn't you read the note at the top of the post?]
2nd Fireteam Leader -> Miranda lives
HtL -> Grunt and Jacob both live
Final boss -> Miranda and Mordin die

Survivors: Grunt and Jacob -> Shepard lives

Yeah, my original scenario was a fail because I had Legion die twice.

So with eight unloyal squadmates and no upgrades, Shepard will die. With nine unloyal squadmates, no upgrades, and a crew escort, Shepard will die. So let's go for ten squadmates: Garrus, Grunt, Jack, Jacob, Legion, Miranda, Mordin, Samara, Tali, Thane

No armor -> Jack dies
No shields -> Legion dies
No weapons -> Thane dies
Tech -> Tali dies
Escort -> Mordin dies, but crew lives
Seeker Swarm -> Using Jacob or Samara, you can get any of the following to die: Garrus, Grunt, Jacob, Samara; I'll go with Garrus
2nd Leader -> Miranda lives
HtL -> Grunt w/ Jacob/Miranda/Samara -> Both live, Shepard lives
Final Boss -> Remaining two squadmates both die

Is it possible for me to still get the No One Left Behind Achievement?  This is my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2 on easy.  Forgive me if Im a noob, never played the first one before. But Im planning to use Mordin for the crew escort, but I dont know who I should take with me to fight the final boss.

You should be able to get the achievement easily. Just don't use Jack or Zaeed for any special roles and don't take them to the final boss fight. I'd leave Grunt and Garrus at the defense as well, to help pick up some of the slack for an unloyal Jack and Zaeed. So for the final boss, take anyone but those four.

P.S. Glad you're loving ME2. :)

for my 4th play through i planned it out , and instead of everyone surviving, i made it more like a movie so certain characters would die. i messed up though cause i didn't know that Miranda couldn't die during the biotic barrier scene, and i lost garrus. that really pissed me off and when i fought the final boss i pulled out the m920 Cain and fired it twice to avenge my lost turian friend.

Just recently completed it with everyone surviving. I did slip up at one point because Miranda said "anyone with biotic powers can do the barrier" so I was like "OK then, I'll use Thane" and then he screwed up and Grunt died. It just seems to come down to two simple points:
1. When asked to assign a particular role to someone, pick people who specialise in that role rather than multi-role characters. Contrary to what someone said above, that includes picking Jack to power the barrier. In the case of the person who you ask to escort the crew back to the Normandy, pick someone loyal.
2. Take more "mage type" people with you for the final boss, leaving behind the tougher, more straight-forward brawlers.

This is going to help me to my new play-through, that make sure the maximum squad members will die but keeps Shepard alive.

It still irritates me that I never got the full details of the Hold the Line sequence to create a formula that works at all times.

If the contrary is related to what I had said earlier, I was responding to someone who specifically mentioned that Jack was unloyal. So no, don't use her for the biotic shield in that case. Use her only if she's loyal.
