Hey guys,

It seems like I'm having a similar problem as everyone else around here. I'll be playing the game, and about 15-25 minutes in, the game screen either goes black or gets those lines, and it freezes. The sound continues to run, but I can't unfreeze it, and I have to perform a hard shutdown on my laptop. Anyone have a solution? I've updated my video and sound drivers, I have the latest versions of DirectX and Visual C++ libraries.

Here are my system specs:

Windows 7 x64bit
Intel Core i7 Q720
6gigs of DDR3 ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics card

My computer should be able to blow this thing out of the water, but it just keeps on crashing. Anyone have an idea?

Edit:
I was able to Alt+Tab right when my screen went black, and a windows bubble message popped up and said that my AMD driver stopped responding, but had recovered. Is this what's happening every time it freezes? If so, anyone have an idea on how to fix it?

Have you monitored the GPU temperature while playing? Overheating is a common problem with laptops. (Put ME2 in windowed mode so you can bring up the the catalyst controls or some other sort of monitor while you play.)
