I'm aware that a lot of people are making custom armours and i saw som new kind of house being made. wouldn't it be nice if all of those were collected into one place and then put into a downloadable erf file or something. i'm not goin to to it myself, just putting it out there.
(possible project) collection with new art resources

Might be, but most people (I would assume, like me) prefer the mods to be separate so they can pick and chose specific ones.. Not a bad idea for those who would want that, though..

this would more be for modders who wants more models to choose from in the toolset than people who wants to use them in the game.

Ah.. I see now.. Great idea for modders then!

and obviously it would just be models not an implementation of them.

Personally? No.
Why? Because the builders would then be stuck with content they never plan on using.

it's completely free of choice to download the package. if you don't want extra content don't download the file.

but what in case you want just part of it?

then download the .erf, extract the needed files and implement them to your custom module. the .erf could be something like the cep was for nwn1.

also why is that such a problem. you take up a couple of more megs of free space on your hardrive and either way you don't know what you will need beforehand. one week from now you come to the conclusion that you would like a different armor type. instead of having to go back to the net and looking for a good one you can first check the erf file.

Im just getting more information, when it comes to my free space, I never have enough of that, still, I personaly am not saying its a bad idea nor Im saying itll be sucessful attempt.
If you do want to try it, I think its worth a shot

i don't want to try it. i just wanted to get the idea out there because i looked for a hood but couldn't find one and i would need different leather armors.

I'd much prefer to see separate downloads for each artist's work.
For DAO (unlike NWN) putting everything in one pot has no technical benefit.
Centralisation would also require an administration, which (judging from various experiences on NWN) could become powerful, to the potential disadvantage of both artists and module builders.
For most of us, this is just a fun hobby. The open exchange of work between individuals keeps life free-and-easy.
Of course, it would be much better if we could find content easily on the social site (a hot topic at Open House at present).

Even in NWN2 we ended up going with separate but coordinated content packs (or tried to), since our attempt to recreate the CEP was a grand failure. I agree with Proleric1 on this point; we need to get sharing of content working before anything else can even be attempted.

Use Proleric's link to Open House (in his sig) and join up! As long as everyone who wants to share is in touch and we have a good way to browse and find everyone's stuff, collecting art resources for your project should be pretty easy. The problem right now, I think, is that the stuff builders are interested in is drowning in the hundredth sacred ashes face morph override pack, or whatever. I don't mind downloading multiple files as long as I can find those files easily.
In terms of art resources, I intend to put what I've got so far up for download pretty soon. I've got a few model retextures I've made, which change some roofs and walls of houses, as well as some .sel files (groups of models you can import into a level) which contain houses that look really different from the dilapidated Lothering and Denerim style buildings the toolset comes with.
Can't wait to see what other members of Open House put out there! (I'm hoping for some custom armor and some interesting new placeables!
