Hi, I'm a guy from Sweden trying to use my secure bankcard to buy
bioware points and I've ran into a bit of a problem. You see, I start at
the Bioware checkout, I choose the offer I want to buy, and choose
'Credit or Debit Cards' as my payment option. So far so good. Then, in
the next page, I have to write down, not just my card details, but my
billing adress as well. WHY!?

I just want to use my bankcard to draw
money from my bank account directly into bioware's pockets so I can get
my BW points. Why do I have to write my billing adress? Are they gonna
send me a bill? I'm just using my bankcard, why do
they need my billing adress? Can someone who have bought BW points
already please explain this to me!!

That is standard practice for MasterCard/Visa transactions so that the ownership of the card can be verified. They are going to double check the address to make sure that the information provided matches up with the information from the bank so that they don't get accused of using the card without the owner's permission, thus initiating a chargeback for which they are liable.

Is this the first time that you have used your card online? Purchases always require a billing address, and also a shipping address if there is a physical product involved. It's a bankcard to you, but BW is going to be putting the purchase through as a credit card charge. If that's not what you intend to happen, you should probably use a different payment method.

Never had to do it on CDON. Still, I see your point. Just to make sure I understand what you're saying, the information is just to verify my ownership of the card, nothing else. Right?

Just don't sign anything written in blood and you should be fine.

Yes, it is just to verify your identity. If you really have issues, you should call the number on the back of your card and they can give you more information.

Heh...nice Couseland.

Just throwing this out there - the purchase of Bioware points has nothing to do with the Bioware store (what this forum is dedicated to) and should have been brought up instead in the Points support forum.

...but, Daewan is correct...EA (Bioware points are sold by EA, fyi) needs to know as much as possible about each and every one of us before they make there move for world domination (/sarcasm...or is it?) and such information usually does help confirm that it is in-fact you making the purchase.
