OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
Game version: 1.02
So, I first tried to run the game but it crashed instanly. I searched the forums and saw the frequent problem with Mass Effect downloaded from Steam concerning the administrator issues. I chose then to run the game in administrator mode and this time (after it had requested permission twice to run the game) I got a small starting screen after wich the screen turned black and right after it crashed again.
I tried running the game in XP compatibility mode after wich in the black screen I got the following message:
General protection fault
History: general2D swap matrix =longnumber (filename not found) etc. (or something similar)
What do you think may be the problem? I initially wasnt so sure the game would run due to graphical issues (apparently the video card is a rather odd one that steam doesnt recognise) but well, after having played Half-Life 2 Successfully I decided i might give it a try.
Thanks for your attention.
