Hey guys.  I just cleared out Ortan Thaig, killed the spider queen, and got Branka's journal.  But no new area has opened up on the map, even when I tried leaving from the Cross area as the journal suggests.  Did anyone else have this problem?

And yes, I realized there is a similar problem posted in a thread right below this one.  But that guy seems to have become stuck a little before I did, and I didn't want to have any spoilers end up in his thread (spoiler forum or not).

yeah that was probably my post, how did you get to Ortan?

Again, weird.

After I found the journal I left the area from the exit further along the path, not the cross, that opened a new area and a nice little surprise (you'll see)

If I remember correctly there was no quest event that triggered Ortan Thaig being on the map, just going through the Cross from the bottom right exit. If I am not mistaken there are 3 exits. I assumed that the next area would open up in a similar fashion after I finished the Ortan part, but no luck, no matter where I leave from. Perhaps someone can illuminate this for both of us. Is the a recorded bug, or are we missing two separate things?

Ah you know what I bet that is my problem. I left Ortan from the same exit I came in, thinking it was a big cave. I didn't see the other exit, that will probably do it. Thanks Agent.

Did you leave the area immediate to the spider's nest through a small wedge in between some rocks?



I couldn't advance either because I didn't see the passage, go back to where you found the journal and look around on your map.

This did it for me, found this post in forums.
