I know and appreciate the "need" for having the disc in the drive for anti-piracy concerns, but this game has been out for a while now. Has there been an official NoCD patch or fix for this game yet? If not, how do the Steam customers play their game?
In any case, I always feel odd having a CD in the drive... I don't take it out until I'm sure I'm not playing again for a long time or unless I'm burning some CDs, but I'd rather have it safe in its case on my shelf than in my drive for days and days.
Is there an official NoCD patch for this game?

All Steam games don't require their respective CDs/DVDs to be in drives because Steam itself takes the role of the DRM.
For retail copies, no, I don't think there will ever be an official noCD patch, because I believe that BioWare never had such practices, even for their older games.
