First of all, my apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere
on these forums. But when I see Dragon Age
and ME1 questions on these ME2 Tech Support forums, I think that others must also
have difficulty finding the right areas of these forums. Anyway, my issue:
Downloaded ME2 from Direct-2-Drive; installed it on my F: drive
When I tried to play, it said it needed to perform a Release
Date Check… after which, I was informed that the game could not be played due to
a "misconfiguration". The very
unhelpful advice that followed was to reinstall. Tried it, that did nothing to remedy this "misconfiguration"
error.
I have seen advice on other forums suggesting that it may be
necessary to edit the binaries when installing to a drive other than the C: drive
but that does not seem to be my issue as everything appears to be pointing correctly. Any way, I suspect that was an early problem that has long since been resolved. My gut tells me that if only it did not do
that Release Date Check, all might be well, but I am not sure.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) on an Intel i7. I appreciate any advice that anyone can offer. Thank you.
D-2-D Download Goes to Release Date Check and then Misconfiguration Error
