You can as long as you don't reject Liara before Virmire (in favour of Ashley or in favour of friendship). You can't go back on that.

What exactly do you need to get Liara to comfort you after you let Ash die? I pursued both until they confronted me and them picked Ash, then let her die. Now I'm stuck on the Citadel but Liara never showed up before Joker tells me about Anderson. Does this mean I can't romance her? I wanted it to go down this way for flavor and I've read you can still romance Liara if Ash dies being you primary interest, and I really don't want to go back to Feros :/
