Anyone get the Superman landing random event?

Where you're walking along and you see a couple talking about how a boy could survive that fall etc.

Yes. You go into that crater and get the star ore from inside of it, then later you can have the smith at Warden's Keep craft a one or two handed sword out of it (sadly, no dagger option).



Note: You must complete the Warden's Keep quest (clearing it out, beating the boss inside, then leaving the keep entirely and returning again) in order to get the smith to show up outside the keep.

Also once you get the end sequence with Levi after you kill Sophia, do not talk to him again when you see him inside wardens keep because he will start the dialogue that says the place is all fixed up, etc and when you leave wardens keep area the game will then lock up every time I tried it. I had to go back to a save from before talking to levi a second time to get the warden keep to work right.

Anyone know a surefire path to take from Location X to Location Y in the world map to get the Crater random event to trigger? I've been trying everything I can think of and still haven't triggered that event. Does the crater appear only after a certain point in the metagame quest path, such as only after Landsmeet or something like that?

at some point the only encounter I ever had was old tegrim... I think I had the star metal really early maybe not my 3rd random encounter. I would say just keep trying to get encounters

Is warden keep dlc required to get this encounter?

Nope I just got it just now and I don't have Warden's Keep. I missed whatever cutscene there was because I usually browse the internet while waiting for the loading times.

I never managed to trigger the encounter, not with or without the dlc. The ones I get very regularly is the dwarf merchant, the wolves, and the plenty of encounters with bandits, darkspawn and animals, but never the 'Clark Kent' one.

Okay, sounds like it's a low random chance then. Thanks. I guess I should be happy that there are better longswords and greatswords out there than Starfang. Mostly just wanted to see what Starfang looked like on Sten. ^.^

I find if you go to Redcliffe and from there to Honeleath (the place you get Shale) it tends to trigger the star-metal encounter (sometimes you might have to repeat the journey but it seems to trigger it around there)

my most common cut scene is the crappy dwarf with the crappy equipment (except a couple easily bought gems) and his danged mule.

I've played through 4 times now and have gotten the star metal every time, but I've yet to get that damn axe!

Got the star metal once, but I've never seen an axe.

The star metal I got on a trip from Orzamar to the Circle Tower by the way. I forgot to do something in Orzamar, so I saved (just in case) and reloaded Orzamar. When I did the trip, I didn't get the metal, so to me this means as much as that the crater event is not triggered but random.
