Grunt was an awesome character...he was just missing squad conflict, if you guys saw the thread on his cut mordin conflict i thought it would have been a great way to round the character out
No, it wouldnt have. The cutscene either painted Mordin as an insufferable d*****bag, or Grunt as really reallly reaally stupid.
Im glad it was cut. For Grunt's sake, nobody push this cut-content forward.

Incidentally, I haven't taken Grunt to the flotilla. I have taken him to the Collector ship where his helmet is equally ridiculous.

Grunt is a child, I'd like to think that you shape him throughout the game into a ruthless mercenary killer or perhaps a wiser warrior. Obviously by the end of ME2 this is not done. Perhaps at some point it'd be nice to see his head plating solidify fully and thicken or the like at some point in ME3. I liked his character and I liked that he learnt and changed, in any of the others it'd be bad writing to change that much, but in a newborn it's different. I hope that he can develope one of several personalities by the end. I'd also like to think of him joining clan Urdnot when the war is done and supporting Wrex, in his own way.
As a team member I love it, grunt, is really hard to kill and so makes a very reliable team member as he eats the dust very infrequently and will at least distract quite a few enemy. His battle cries need to happen less often or be varied though. I AM KROGAN grates the third time during the 8th fight of a level. He might not deal damage like thane (who likes to stand on top of raised objects yelling "ME ME") does or disrupt enemy like miranda but he's reliable with the claymore is an absolute beast (having 10 shots total isn't something he has to worry about).

I just feel bad for Grunt after ME3 is done and over. Would it be a better idea to have him die fighting since he will never ever face enemies like Reapers again? It's a sad thought, really.
Grunt die? Never!!!

Don't think the Reapers are going to be the highlight of his lifetime. It's a big threat, one that's nice to put on the resume of Badass Things I've Done, but it's somewhat impersonal as battles go. Give Grunt a fight like Aleena vs. Wrex, Aria vs. Patriarch. One that drags out forever where you get hands on and see your enemy in the eye.Flying-Jew wrote...

Take down a threat that has destroyed countless civilizations over time immemorable? Just doesn't bring out the glee quite like stabbing a Turian in the face.

100% jonny shephard
90%+ james blond
shephard isn't no where near a krogan's DNA makeup, unless results we're fabricated again at agency controlled corp-lab or something

Besides, Krogan live a long, long time, and as Matriarch Aethyta reminds us, the galaxy can't seem to go a solid millennium without "some major war" breaking out. I suppose the Rachni Wars, and that sort of thing, weren't quite on the same order of magnitude as giant evil spaceships made of people coming to wipe out all life in the universe, but even so, there are certain to be epic, galaxy-spanning conflicts long after Shepard is dead.

You have discussion of your favorite character going fairly well, but I'd also encourage you guys to present any fan-created works about the series to your other forumites!

ps. Is there a place I can put my 2 cents, or heck, dollar to make him a LI? Wrex is a no go with him being clan leadership now and all, I just don't see it happening with him. I told my brother already I would so do a playthrough through 1&2 single just for him in 3.
pss. I just found this adorable little 1 sentence challange on Grunts views on things and it makes me squee. In fact it quite literally did.

..... You know, there's some people like myself who have posted to this thread that have done nothing but shame the mighty warrior image of Grunt.
Did like the meme thing, though. Just for being rather good at conveying the feeling of a word.

I remember beating the Thresher Maw and the announcement came for a breeding request and in my heart I was just hoping it would make Grunt jealous.
I think there is quite a few fans (female and male) that would would have liked/loved to romanced Wrex in ME1. Wrex though was more of a older brother to me I guess. He had his past and had a goal for the future, for his clan. Grunt though started, in a sense, with me and would like to follow me and battle alongside me in the future. I like that. Makes me feel like he's mine.
