Wrex is different than Grunt. Wrex is not > Grunt. Grunt does not = Wrex. If we're talking about awesomeness of personality, give anyone a thousand years of stories and see what that gets you.
Grunt is there to fill Wrex's archetype. Thats reason enough to compare the two.

No, Zaeed is the old soldier with a black sense of humor and a head full of war stories. Grunt occupies an archetype not seen in ME1.Just_mike wrote...

Just because he's a krogan doesn't mean he's trying to be Wrex, racist.

It'd be interesting to see how Grunt develops then in ME3, much as Garrus developed in ME2. Some people say Garrus took a step backwards if they did a paragon ending to his quest with Dr. Saleon, but even in spite of that, he develops into someone who looks up to Shepard to someone who is willing to speak on equal terms with Shepard.Christmas Ape wrote...
Oddly, Grunt kind of steps into Garrus' shoes a little. Though accomplished in his own right (Garrus as a respected C-Sec agent, Grunt as the 'perfect' krogan) he is nevertheless student to Shepard as mentor, enthusiastic for the opportunity but grappling with deeper questions about his place in it.
I'm not sure if Grunt will ever reach that step so long as he views Shepard as his battlemaster. But Shepard is played as a bit of a tactician compared to the brute force of a krogan. It would be interesting if Grunt took on such an approach to his own combat. Decidedly unkrogan behavior, but makes him a much stronger warrior.

The krogan in Zakera Ward seem nice enough, but they do still talk a lot about kicking the ass of random turians.

Grunt starts his life with Shepard!
Grunt knows about life because Shep was there to help him!
What can be cooler for a mate?
It's not about Wrex or Grunt, IMHO. I could have them both by my side.
I is not really inspired today, but Go Grunt!

Something has been annoying me lately. When Grunt called Shepard his Battlemaster, don't you need to be a biotic like Wrex? I don't know a lot about the whole 'Battlemaster' thing.
No, I think the biotic aspect is incidental to Wrex. I think a battlemaster is considered a veteran of many great fights and of whom has achieved victory through various trials of deadly odds. So hence Grunt looks at Shepard as a perfect example of that.

While as V-Rex already said, I think "Battlemaster" is really a title for someone who has proven to be a considerable warrior. You can read more about them in the Codex entry "Krogan: Military Doctrine" which you can access on the ME Wiki here.PseudoEthnic wrote...

It would appear that a lot of biotic krogans do tend to get promoted up the ranks so that a disproportionate number of them will reach Battlemaster status. But that's not to say most Battlemasters are biotics.

They designed him to look young. Makes me wonder when a krogan reaches his 'finished' look.
