But his head crest. Do you think it's still a bit soft? It looks different from older krogan, so I think it will 'grow' some more... but I don't know if it's already hard.

Ahhh, the baby hasn't dried up yet.
They designed him to look young. Makes me wonder when a krogan reaches his 'finished' look.

Wiki also says something about yellow or green markings on younger krogan, that will turn brown/tan over time. I don't know where to find those markings. Maybe on their body under the armor?

I wouldn't trust the Wiki... it is full of innacurate information.

Aaaaw, if you name it and it dies, then it is a sad tale.NICKjnp wrote...
There is a baby lizard that has taken up residence on my patio. I see it there every night when I let my dogs out to do their buisness. It always in the same place at night (I think it is hunting insects). It is a cute little thing and I've decided to name it Grunt.
But maybe I assume its death is nigh because I have cats, and lizards and cats don't play together. Cats play with lizard. Lizard loses tail. Sometimes the cats get lizard within an inch of life, let the lizard think it can escape, then smack it down again.
So see, Grunt is in for a life of hardship.

I don't have cats... my dogs like to chase them. Baby Grunt is safe for now.

If you don't upgrade the shields, Grunt can die, but not before Kasumi -> Legion -> Tali -> Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed have had a go at it. If Grunt is in danger of being incinerated, just take him to the Oculus fight. Could lose Jack and Samara then, however.
If you don't upgrade the weapons, Grunt can die, but not before Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed.
Grunt's not going to work as a leader. If you try it the first time, your tech will die. If you try it the second time, Grunt will die.
If your biotic specialist isn't up for the job, Grunt can be taken by the seeker swarms, but not before Thane -> Jack -> Garrus -> Legion -> Samara.
Grunt is well known for being one of the best defenders holding the line and can hold that position by himself while unloyal. He will also call in a status report if Thane -> Jack -> Garrus -> Legion are not there at the defense.
To hear Grunt speak up in support for keeping the base, you can either bring along a squadmate with a contrary opinion (Jack, Jacob, Kasumi, Miranda, Samara/Morinth, Tali, Thane) or not bring Zaeed along. Tell the Illusive Man the base is an abomination and Grunt will try to convince you otherwise.
If you'd like to catch Grunt (or avoid catching him to save your arm), then his icon should be on the RIGHT. If you need to reload, his icon could switch places.
If you'd like Grunt to catch Shepard, his place in the order is after Miranda -> Zaeed -> Kasumi -> Tali -> Jacob -> Samara. It's going to be one of the two who went with Shepard to the final fight, unless those two died.

The Codex on the Krogan Blood Rage mentions it was a very rare trait for krogan before they put themselves through a nuclear wasteland. Then evolution brought it to prominence such that it became a trait seen in all krogan today. So I've always wondered what the krogan were like before they blew it all up. A sensitive krogan artist. A savant krogan mathematician. Krogan whose desire has never been to kill.
I wonder if the Salarians even directed krogan development during the Rachni Wars to the point where if any krogan existed without the blood rage, they were made extinct during that timeframe.

Wrex isn't super violent.... he has a very calm demeanor. There is a Krogan mechanic on Tuchanka. There are three Krogan scientists we have encountered so far (virmire scientist doctor, Okear, Tuchanka scientist). There is the Krogan buisnessman and his very polite Krogan representative that we encounter on Illium. There is the Krogan poet on Illium. There is the Krogan warrior who wishes his son could come live with him. Krogan aren't violent... the galaxy is just full of racists who view them all as violent.

I know there are calmer krogan and krogan who aren't warriors in ME2, but there is a Codex entry on Krogan Blood Rage which states that every krogan suffers from it. They might be able to temper the impulse or redirect it, but they still have it.NICKjnp wrote...

But once upon a time, krogan were born without the Blood Rage. A scientist who was simply a scientist without that underlying urge to kill.

Well, the Krogan as a species seem to prize strength and violence. So there would probably always be an underlying desire to kill, just not the need for it. Some species are just naturally more aggressive.
Still, it would be cool to know more about pre-Salarian Krogan.

Might not make it to the fridge in the Mess Hall.
I do like the idea that Grunt takes up painting as a hobby, though. Bring those tank images to life without, you know, reenacting them.
