Painting Grunt? There are more things in life that are fun to do apart from killing... creative therapy to deal with the tank imprints XD

Since I never take ammo powers for myself... I almost always bring Grunt.  That and I bring him because I love his dialogue.

I am having the worse luck with Grunt and his Claymore. When I give my squadmates specific instructions of where to go and who to attack, it inevitably goes horribly wrong for me. Grunt. You have a shotgun. Get up in that other krogans face and ATTACK. It made Mordin's loyalty mission much harder trying to get Grunt to play front line meat shield. Wuss kepting using me a meat shield. He did much better on his loyalty mission where I stopped giving him directions on where to go and so he went to town charging whoever he wanted.

Yeah... he works best on his own. Let him run loose and have some fun. As soon as he has fortification (and you have squad powers turned off) then he will just keep spamming it... making him the best distraction in game.

I always let Grunt just do his own thing and he's saved my butt numerous times.

I'm thinking of taking Grunt with me for every mission for the rest of my Engineer playthrough. I still have quite a few loyalty missions left, the Collector ship, and the Derelict Reaper. I usually take him to the Derelict Reaper anyway.

This is how i do my mission order after Horizon:
1) Go to Illium and buy me some upgrades and star charts.
2) Go to Geth weather control planet to get damage protection upgrade
3) Do Jack's loyalty mission
4) Do Samara's recruitment mission
5) Do Thane's recruitment mission
6) Do Grunt's loyalty mission
7) Do Mordin's loyalty mission

If you do Grunt's and Mordin's loyalty missions after mission number 5 then you can get an extra mission in before the Collector Ship triggers.  This means Grunt is 100% beefed up for the Collector Ship (bonus power unlocked and Krogan vitality from Mordin's loyalty mission).

I'm already well into my post-Horizon playthrough, though. I've done Tali's recruitment, Jack's loyalty mission, Mordin's loyalty mission, Grunt's loyalty mission, and I'm off to do Garrus's loyalty mission. I usually do Illium first on my playthroughs, so I'm going for something a bit different. And having Grunt tag along for every mission will certainly be different.

Current playthrough. Engineer. Just did Collector Ship mission. Took Miranda and Grunt. Never again. That was the most unfun I've ever had playing this game in a long time.

Oh crap, I said I'd take Grunt and Jack on every mission I could from now on and I still have Miranda's loyalty mission to do... Well, Jack gets to go on that one. She can snark.

Anyway, Grunt did pretty well this time around with his Claymore and getting up in Harbinger's face. Miranda not so resilient. Probably wouldn't minded if I wasn't going into the mission with a grand total of 1 medikit.

Did find out if you have 2 medikits, you use both in reviving two dead squadmates. But if you only have 1, not only can you heal yourself, you will also revive two dead squadmates. What the **** is with that? Why not have it be 1 medikit all the time?

Couldn't find one with Grunt caressing his beloved Claymore, but I did find one that demonstrates how Grunt makes effective use of the Widow Anti-Material Sniper Rifle.

But i was going to get the Reaper IFF with Grunt and Garrus, And of course... Grunt charged and shot the hell out of Husks.

Garrus on the other hand was killed. Four times. In one fight.
