Hey guys. I'm afraid I could only read up to page 5 before coming to the end to post my reply but I think I've read enough to know that we all want to have the option of resetting the achievements, both online and offline, of your account.

I have played many a character on Dragon Age Origins and I have unlocked almost all subclasses. When I come back a year later and I want to play there is really no reason to go through a lot of places to unlock a subclass that you can already choose when you hit level 7 and 14. I found this very disappointing.

I loved the moment when I first discovered the Arcane Warrior subclass. I was overwhelmed with joy at my discovery and while I know I will never be able to fully recreate that moment I would still like the choice of finding it all over again for nostalgia's sake.

When I tried to contact Bioware to discuss this matter I was forwarded to EA's website, which is not who I wanted to speak with on the matter. Unfortunately, with little choice, I contacted EA about this and I am still waiting for a reply. Hopefully I get a better answer than the other person in this thread who tried contacting EA regarding the achievements.

To sum up everything: I'm glad there is a thread like this and that I'm not alone in my desire to see an option to reset all achievements for Dragon Age.

Got a reply! It sounds promising enough. What do you guys think?

Hello Brandon,

Thank you for writing to us here at Electronic Arts.

I apologize for inconvenience this may have caused to you. Unfortunately, we cannot reset the achievements which has been already unlocked. However, We will pass the information you have provided to the development team. Regretfully we do not have information on if or when a fix will be put in place. They are however collecting data from the community and are examining solutions if they determine enough customers have the problem and the problem is technically addressable with a patch, or if a work around is possible. Certainly development will use the information gathered to ensure that this problem does not occur in future releases. If you are not interested in tracking this issue on the message board, please know that you will automatically be notified if an official solution to this problem in the form of a work around or patch is discovered.

I would also suggest you to post it at official forum at http://social.biowar...m/forum/1/index

In the mean time, I am notifying my supervisor that you have an unresolved problem that we have no fix for. We at EA customer service make every attempt to resolve each issue, but sometimes a resolution is simply not possible due to problems beyond our control.

Regards !!
Govind

Sounds like a template answer to me. Would not make me at all hopeful.

You cannot reset them on-line, but if you delete your profile.dap you can reset them on your computer. You cannot log in to the servers again after doing this ofthe achievements will re-sync. That means no DLC that requires authorization.

It could be a template answer, I never thought it couldn't be, but it's something to hope for. So long as we keep this topic active with constructive discussion Bioware will see what we want and at least consider making this change for their customers.

Bump, I'd love to be able to replay this game without it feeling like some doucebag's already gone through and done everything.

This is a tech support forum, not a features request forum. This is not a bug. They have not patched the actual game breaking bugs out of this game yet. The chances of them returning to this game two years later to add a feature for a handful of players is non-existant. Someone in the modding community might be able to assist you. Thread reported.

Reset achievements? Back-up (if you want) your profile file then delete the live file. That'll kill your Achievements.

How? Would that reset the ones in the game profile or would I have to reinstall?

I know there's someone who tried to delete the social account and I quote: "Are you sure you want to delete your account? All of your account data, including any files you have uploaded, will be permanently deleted! Upon deletion of your account, you will be automatically logged out."
Well, we UPLOAD the archievements, no?
Can we reactivate the account after deleting?

(Somehow my online profile is not being uploaded very briefly, so luckly all the archievements I have won, I entend to win again, so it's not a big deal for me. Look at us, we are so awsome that we don't want to win archievements,:P )

Remind yourself where you are. The readers here are just game players. Neither Bioware nor EA were ever actively engaged here before now, and currently that has changed to not at all. We deal in game tech for the basic game with its official add-ons, not in anything to do with the SITE.

" PC Technical Support. This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age: Origins to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here."

This is the only thread about this issue and it speaks about the DA:O archievement system which is related to the social site because that's how the system works, so to speak of the issue I most talk about the website aswell since both are stricly connected.

Where in the world do you end up with such bad information? Have you never heard of Google or Yahoo?

While I am sure they exaggerate, instead of 1,500 instances, I'm certain there are a hundred.

Well, MAYBE that's how I found this thread... As you probably can see, I hope, the first two pages of that search are, mostly, links to exactly this thread.

No point in bumping.

The question has been answered: "No. Achievements are tied to the the actual PLAYER'S account, not to the characters or saves. Removing profiles, deleting games, un-/re-installing, none of that matters."

Your badges are yours for good.

And as was also already pointed out, if you try to play under a different account, all your DLC become "unauthorized", and therefore unplayable.

Thanks Thandal... I guess that's the final answer. In the future maybe. ; )

Two years worth of bumping has changed nothing, continuing to bump a dead-end topic isn't likely to change things now or in the future.

Time to give it a rest.
