Which companion

Who would You pick?
Me personally. I'd have to say Morrgian, the whole demon baby who has the ablity to understand his/her power and make the very world crumble under it's feet is interesting
Also Morrgian is interesting as well, I don't know truely if she and her mother are one and same person or not.
Plus her spells were wicked cool, she could heal and damage with a personality to keep me interested

Origins only - Zevran. His arc is my favourite - romanced or just friendly. He's rock solid once he's on side, the one I'd trust most at my back.
If I'm allowed someone from Awakenings instead - Anders. Would love to know more about that character.

Edit: Oh, and she's the only companion that could still be available even if there is a significant timeskip between games.

I'd say Zevran or Leliana - I think they both have stories that are in distant lands and so wouldn't interfere with anything if the writers didn't want it to - but could with an additional effect on the complexity.

If you're reffering to the fact that as a golem, she wont age, then you're half wrong. Dpending on how friendly you were, Shale may have gone off and decided to turn herself into a ddwarf again, meaning that she would age just the same as anyone else in your party.
Anyway, I choose Morrigan, for reasons that have already been stated.

We know that she sets off to seek her mortality and that if you die eventually she regains it but it could very well take awhile (and probably does) so if the game is set, say, a generation later then the Imperium might not have found a way yet.Zaros wrote...

It's the same thing as wanting Garrus on your team because he's been there with you from the start and just gets it. He gets the mission, he gets the whole spectre thing, and he's got your back. Alistair meets that criteria for my DAO game and that's the reason why I'd pick him first. Morrigan would be my second choice for her role in the Blight and the dark ritual.

If you only had the choice of One companion to bring into Dragon Age 2, complete with full back story and any romance or friendships carry on. I know this likely is not possible. However let's pretend, out of all of your companions,
Who would You pick?

Not a demon baby, just the untainted tevinter dragon god of beauty.
But if I had my choice? Ohgren, Loghaine or Dog in that Order. I loved all those guys.

1. Morrigan and Alistair - They are a package deal to me. Morrigan because well the DR results, romance closure, and the whole Flemeth isn't dead situation are all very interesting. Alistair because he is my homeyg we stopped a Blight together. He was the only companion that I could talk to for a whole year who truly understood what we were doing. Yeah the other companions had the whole GW Defenders give up everything for the people, but they truly didn't know what we went through. Well Morrigan maybe did, but no other companion can relate to the nightmares, the idea of a "calling" in which you will die in combat or risk becoming a ghoul because the taint will devour you, and I can't imagine what "feeling" darkspawn near me would be like I can't imagine it being a good feeling.
2. Shayle - Golem or Dwarf form she would always be in my party, and not because of her overpoweredness in Golem for meither. I love her banter and character. I think she is one of the best done characters in the game, and she hardly gets any pub maybe cus she is DLC.
3. Sten - Same as Shale really really good character who doesn't get a lot of attention or time put into getting to know him. His character is awesome all mr no nonsense with a softie side and a sneaky sense of humor. Very well done on Sten Bioware.

I'd like Shale to return regardless of form. We do not know if the Tevinter Imperium has found a way to turn her back into a dwarf so golem!Shale appearing decades later to a new generation of heroes is plausible.
If we're talking about vanilla Origins, I'm torn between Zevran and Leliana for reasons already stated by others. It's harder for me to decide if I include Awakening companions because they were not fleshed out as much as the Origins companions due to the conversation system and shorter duration. Giving someone from Awakening (who is not Oghren) a slot in the DA2 roster will make me happy because hopefully I get to learn and appreciate that character more.

I'd keep Alistair. He's just too sweet to leave behind. Or Sten...I don't like his combat style as much, but he's great.
