As the title says. The game is locking up at the citadel when I have to go up the elevator to the docking bay in order to leave the citadel. I am only 5 hours into the game and am leaving the game for the first time.

Have had no other problems and have been able to run the game at max settings with ease. What it is doing is I go into the elevator, then once it hits the loading thing that pops up, it freezes after a few seconds. I can tell because the music is playing a split second loop over and over again. If I don't ctrl+alt+del it fast enough my computer won't let me do anything and I have to manually shut down. Even if I do and manage to close the game, it is still showing up on my processes (taking up memory) in the task manager and I am unable to stop it.

I have tried to turn down the graphic settings all the way down, and it does the same thing at the same place. So I know it isn't my graphics card. The task manager says that whenever I am playing it, I am running at around 75% CPU usage.

I own the game through steam. I have tried veriyfying the game's cache, still doesn't work. This is the only place it has happened at, (haven't been to any other planet.). I was able to enter the citadel (obviously) but I can't leave due to this.


System Specs:
CPU- Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83 GHz
RAM- 3G
OS- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
GeForce 9600GT OC2 512MB        Just updated the drivers after the problem occured, didn't fix it.
Steam updated the direct X version before I ran the game.

have you tried re installing? like a full re install, not checking the game cache

Do you have the same problem with any other elevator?

If not, I would hazard a guess at a file corruption to do with the landing dock tileset. Try reinstalling.

I had tried that before and it didn't work. But I just tried it again and it did! Well thanks for the responses.
