Hey, I'll be the first to mention my ship came with a... generous amount of minerals in the Cargo Hold while playing ME2. But this is the ME1 forum. :P

I find that mining the galaxy (even if you finish that N7 side quest for finding minerals) gives you a few more xp. There's a ton of mining places, on exploration planets. So I often refer to the wikia or guides to find them.

As for hitting 60, I've only hit a 57, including doing all side-quests (without the BDTS dlc) on one playthrough.

In my New Game + when I tried to do everything, I got to 57. This was right before ME2 came out and I wanted a good import character. The sad part? I didn't realize you had to navigate the import tool with the d pad and settled for playing that character at level 40. I felt pretty lame when I figured this out a few weeks ago.

58 with Pinacle Station and leaving behind some xp from avoiding a pair of Renagade Choice battles. Got there in the Citadel.

slight necro , but...

(spoiler alert) on 360 I was able to get to 58 as a soldier with one point in decryption (for Virmire Camp) on a playthrough from zero, but that was with the extra xp from all the extra xp-giving achievements from a previous lvl 60, once I got to lvl 22 i went from veteran to hardcore and at lvl 31 i went to insanity, there are a couple places where there seem to be more baddies with a higher difficulty, but then I might have been seeing things too.

tedious but I killed all thresher maws (used wiki to find them all), missile towers, armatures and colossi on foot (sniper strafing, wrex help absorb some) getting as many of the minerals scanned, data discs, turian battle insignias, STG id's league of one, matriarch writings and all side quests including two DLC's (only missed the renegade with lord darius)

(spoiler alert) I leveled up to 58 right before fighting Saren on hover board in the Citadel Tower, I cleared out both the krogan corridor and geth turret plain before entering the Tower.

I'd heard some people mention getting to level 58 on one playthrough, but I think all of them had XP bonuses in effect. Maybe Nerevar-as didn't, I suppose Pinnacle Station is an neverending source of XP.

In my last run prior to getting the XP achievments, without DLCs, I reached lvl 54. I think I missed a couple of turians medals and such....

But is exhausting just hacking everything to get 100 xp knowing there's only junk waiting and you already have 999 of medigel and 9999999 credits.

I hit lvl 60 the 'right' way only once. After that, I just cheat before the last fight with Saren. Not worth the trouble.

I've never hit level 60. I think I've played the game 25 times, too. I just can't be bothered.

I reached level 58 in one playthrough using the exploits on the final battle, killing a big amount of Destroyers and Juggernaughts.
I didn't had BDTS and Pinnacle Station at the time, but the process is boring. LOL

Why the game was designed for not being able to reach level 60 in one playthrough is beyond me.

I reached level 54 once; all levels cleared, every container opened, everything killed on foot - I don't think you can get to level 60 in a single playthrough.

my very first play through I got somewhere close to ~33-35, no dlc at the time, and then i played that character like 2-3 more times to get to 60.

i only got to 58 once on that one with the all the achievements that grant the exp and doing everything i mentioned in the other post, and at the very end of the game.

there very likely is no way without cheating to get to 60, just not enough exp available on one run

Well, the whole point of the thread is that you can't. :)

Highest I have been able to make is 54, I always figured that you could do it if you played on the hardest difficulty, I was going to try on the hardest difficulty but now there is no point. (With Bringing down the sky added in, without it I'd probably be less)

Nope difficulty will make little or no difference in the amount of xp you gain.  IIRC there might be a couple of areas with a couple of extra drones.  But it will not make any difference in the level you reach by the end.
The best I've managed on 30+ play throughs in one pass without exploits was 57 (this was before Pinnacle station came out).  At this point I really don't feel up to doing a 3 pass character anymore, so it's the pc console for mePosted Image.  (Yep you can get to level 60 in one go if you cheat.)

I've only managed to get to level 53 or 54 doing every bit of content available to my character. I don't have any dlc's though.

Since there is a level cap of 50 on first playthrough can I still use a cheat to get myself to 60?

I'd have no problem playing again 50->60 If I could play a different class at least.

On the PC version, you can always use the console to bump your level up to 60 just before you activate the terminal thingy after fighting Saren. That way you still get the full import bonuses in ME2, while only having to do a single play-through of ME1.

I've always figured that if you're going to cheat to sixty, you might as well do it as soon as you leave Luna. Much easier to do a coherent build that way, you get all your powers to play with longer, and you get to skip all those levels where you're just burning points on 1% increases. (You could even do it on the Normandy before you talk to Nihlus, if you have the discipline to save your last six points until you get your specialization.)

I'd just like to point out that you couldn't reach the level cap in Dragon Age Origins either, unless you cheated or exploited a glitch anyways

Highest LV. I've reached in ME1 - 42 w/ playing DLC.
