Hi,
Does anyone know if there is an option for cam crossfading? or at least  a less aggressive fade than fade to black or hard cuts? or perhaps another softer transition that I could use in the editor..?

Thanks

you can extend the length of the fade out to be long, it will make it slowly turn full black but you probably know that.... what about fog?

I am actually looking for a crossfade between cameras without going to black, but rather having two cams at the same time for a few split seconds. Although it seems the master can only show one cam at a time, unless you or someone knows otherwise?

ohh, i think i understand what you mean now. i can't think of any way to do that -- like you said the master only lets you switch in the one track, and it's an instant switch.

Hopefully someone else will know a way though. =/

I don't think the game engine supports simultaneous render of the scene from more than one view (or effectively more than one scene) which would be required to achieve this effect. If just because it'd effectively cut the framerate in half.

Note though, you're not limited to fade to black -- it can be to any colour which can be sometimes useful. But generally i'd try to keep the cuts as simple and functional as possible. It's like with camerawork -- if it's fancy then it tends to draw viewer's attention from the scene itself, and that's rarely desired effect.

I agree..I am not a fan of "fancy" for the sake of fancy. (which is why I don't use the colorfades in my current particular case) Well, thanks for the knowledge. It makes sense. I was just hoping for a little extra creative freedom --but I'm not complaining
