Ok, lemme throw this out, this is what I noticed on my first try of NM solo.

First off, Duncan wears simple earing in his right ear.

Also, way he talks is very calm and rational, he does not show any stronger
emotions in his voice, like anger, even in the moments you would expect to.
Also, he is surprisingly polite, even after being insulted by city elf scum.
He never ever mentioned woman in his speeches. In any way.
He has not gave a single compliment to the female, not even simplest one,
but he could almost sing about mans fight skills.
And since Dragon Age contains homosexuality, do you think Duncan can be part of it?

I don't think he is, but I like that your reasoning behind it is that he's just so gosh darn nice :)

Heh I saw the occasional funny post, but most of this is a keg about to be lit by a simple spark. This thread reminds me so much of your typical narcissistic rumors on whether or not every single actor in Hollywood is gay or not.

Oh Duncan's gay, oh Alistair is gay, oh Loghain is gay, hell might as well make all the werewolves, mages, templars, archers, and qunari be gay as well, cause guess what: we nobodies all LOVE to wrongfully accuse random people of being gay and LOVE it even more when someone supports our foolhardy notions!

Honestly? I think the people who incite these left-minded accusations are the ones that are gay.

Left-minded? Ooookay.

Alistair is gay, through the magic of hax!

What a very odd post.

Where's the "keg" that's about to be "lit"? Your post is the first even vaguely unpleasant one in the entire thread. I am not sure "wrongfully accuse" is an appropriate term. Being gay is not a crime.

And... "left-minded"? What?

Apparently Duncan = Geralt the Witcher. I wonder if he's collected cards from all his encounters...?

Left minded = quick thinking, irrational, never laid out properly.

As for your comment, I suppose you are not sick and tired of hearing all the Hollywood bull going around on the newspapers. Was kinda hoping to run away from that, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. Perhaps maybe you should have read earlier in the thread about the keg being lit. It's already started since before I came on here.

Being gay is not a crime, but calling people gay all the friggin time SHOULD be. Thanks for trying to turn that around on me by the way. That makes you a naughty boy in need of a time out.

If i recall right female PCs have option(s) to flirt with Duncan while male PCs don't get that. Since the game only allows this sort of interaction with the NPCs whose sexual orientation is "compatible" with the player's gender so to speak, that would point to a "no".

"Left-minded =quick-thinking, irraational, never laid out properly"? What?

Firstly, although it is somewhat difficult to work out what on earth you are on about, since the term "left-minded" does not appear in any dictionary as far as I can see and is an expression I have never come across before, I assume that "left-minded" is supposed to be pejorative, which is rather amusing since "quick-thinking" is generally taken to be a positive trait (meaning "mentally agile"). But since "left-minded" is something you pretty much seem to have just made up, I suppose it can have any bizarre combination of meanings you choose.

"I suppose you are not sick and tired of hearing all the Hollywood bull going around on the newspapers."

I pay no attention to such things and do not let it bother me.

"but calling people gay all the friggin time SHOULD be"

But thankfully it is not and if speculating about the sexual orientation of an entirely fictional character were ever made a crime then would think we had basically given up on living in anything like a free society.

"Thanks for trying to turn that around on me by the way."

I am afraid once again, I have no idea what you are talking about. I thought you were talking nonsense and said so quite plainly.

Judging by what can be said at the start of the human noble origin I think the female pc and Duncan would of got it on soon as Daddy Cousland left the building :D

Left-minded is a combination of quick thinking and irrational. No trust me it may be "agile" but it is also "inaccurate" thinking. And no, I did not make it up, it is a medical fact of the neurological patterns, but I learned it in art class in high school. It determines your speed and accuracy at accomplishing tasks. If you take your time to observe your surroundings and even sit back to analyze for a solution, you are using the right side of your mind. Left minded means it was quickly concluded (which you might think is good) but also with unjustifiable haste, as well as the means of an incorrect outcome. Saying something like "Oh Vin Diesel likes the gymnasium to the point of being totally muscular, therefore he must be gay" is considered left minded, or in other words, quick thinking and irrational at the same time. Quick thinking CAN be considered agile thinking, but it cannot be considered irrational in order for that to happen. It can actually be used as a supplement to massage techniques as well, as right or left mind can be drawn from your amount of concentration or lack there-of on a particular worry. Worrying is using your left mind, releasing all stress and anxiety is using your right mind. You can say I am making it up all you wish, but I promise you I am not actually, I just cannot fully explain or define the phrase or term for you. You should google it up to find out more. Do that please ;)

By the way, you're not properly working the quote feature. Make sure to do this for example:

[q.uo.te] in order to start a quote, and merely add a slash before "quote" to end it. Look at the bottom, but ignore the periods:

Ah, so you were using a little-known idiomatic term to make a point regarding the lateralisation brain functions.

Strangely enough, now that your basic and rather elementary point (that the claim that Duncan might be gay lacks any rational or evidential support) has been extracted from your rather odd posting style I agree with you. In fact, I stated that point earlier in this thread.

Perhaps you could try to state your claims in a more straightforward fashion in the future. It would be most helpful.

Yay you did the quote thing!! :o

Actually, judging from your vocabulary, I thought you would have known.

So... The moral of the story guys... It's ok to be gay, just don't go spreading false rumors or "left-minded" rumors about people being gay when clearly they are not. Second moral to the story is: Don't EVAH!! forget the difference between left and right!

left side of the brain is actually the analytical side...logic for instance...
the right side of the brain is associated with creativity..

But you might be right just switch left and right because the right brain controls the left hand/eye etc and vice versa..

Indeed. I was going to point it out myself but I just didn't want to provoke any more strangeness.

Hahaha, good man, forgot about that. Although I don't think it is always logical to think with left mind. People make a lot of dumb decisions with that side of the brain. I won't lie, I do too many times. Who is to say they never do?

Sorry OP, but I'll have to throw it back. While I see nothing wrong in discussing Duncan's sexuality, the way your question was presented and the tone of some replies tell me this thread is better off locked.
