I'd also like more conversations AFTER the romance. It seems like once you romance the love interest, they never have anything new to say. I never liked that.

More stats and more spells. We only have very basic stats at the moment when developing a character. Spells that can only be used for paricular enemies with more enemy variation, not the same grinding Hurlock all the time.
More fun NPCs like the Mad Mage and the Rhyming Tree. Memorable and amusing characters like Minsc and Boo in BG, Oghren and Sten was a washout. The return of Shale, possibly finding a long lost friend or husband.
I think in time to come players will look at DAO as an inferior product compared to newer content. DAO is good because it's so new and unusual. When you break it down there are flaws in the storyline with too much emphasis on Hack'n'Slash. Let's keep DAO an RPG rather than a Whack'em'Up.

2. Less linearity, better and more fleshed out sidequests.

Like the female werewolf quest in the Brecilian Forest, that type of thing.

More variety in weapons, side quests, and armor would also be nice. Especially side quests.

DAO is not a dating sim. These characters are fictional.Leather_Rebel90 wrote...
In Dragon Age 2 I'd really like to see some more in-depth romances (including the contiuation of romances which the player began in Origins). The Romances in DAO were very short and could be completed before you even did your first plot quest (I just restarted my game and finished Lothering, Leliana is already in love with my PC at 100 Rating and that is fucking ridiculous).

True, but in an RPG like this, characters need depth. We don't get depth when we romance a character in the first few hours of the game, then they haven't anything else to say to us. Romances are important not to make the game anything like a dating sim, but they're really the primary way that the player will want to interact with characters of the opposite gender.Gaxhung wrote...

Also some cooler armour and different (like in Awakening).
I think they should take out the option that you can change your magic specialisation, it makes it too easy, I know I don't have to use it, but I think it's a bit of a silly addition.
More side quests would be cool too, just make it a bit longer. Even just some silly competitions like fencing or something would be a fun addition.

Like, the way I'm looking at it Warden and Morrigan will probably be involved in some way, with certain impacts from Origins, but have our characters from Origins and Awakening (If still alive) carry over as well, and add a few more characters as well. Like, not from the get go, but being able to go through and find them leading on different lives in a way, maybe like Leliana leading a semi normal life at first, but visiting again reveals some trouble, and after helping her out, she decides she cant truly escape danger and decides to keep fighting it and helping others maybe?
The types of weapons are fine, but I'd like more designs, and more sets, like Twin Daggers together that add like, more backstab damage, A bow that deals more damage with certain arrows, more Sword+Shield sets. Also, more unique armour, maybe not more sets, but things that aren't just White Steel Scale Armor and the sort.
Now, as for choices, I'd like to see a few things carry over, maybe not the big things like who is the Dwarf King, what happened to the tower, etc, etc. Because really, I see DA2 being based in another country, probably one that doesn't care about Fereldan too much, except that it survived a blight, but more like certain choices that were made, like some people who lived, or died, and events that could possibly reflect it. I'm thinking of one person specifically from Awakening with this, and how he could alter a few parts of Darkspawn in DA2?
When it comes to Romance, I'm not too torn up about it, it's not a dating sim, it's essentially a RPG based in a War Enviroment. I really think with just the difference in tone of voice, how they act towards you and people who say flirt with you, and things like that being altered slightly is enough, but changing there personality entirely shouldn't happen. Morrigan should herself still remain a mean person, even towards you, but be softer with you instead of quite so harsh unless needed. Y'know?

This, mainly.
And some better variation of armor models would be nice. DAO's main letdown for me was the lack of variety in the armor department, really.

I'd like to see the love story be more epic and thread through the story. Once we achieve a romance, it just seems to end. I would like to see little thing, like perhaps during a later cut scene where your love interest is clearly more affectionate. Or does something stupid to "rescue" you and you have to wonder if it's a good idea to pursue or not.
I'd also like more conversations AFTER the romance. It seems like once you romance the love interest, they never have anything new to say. I never liked that.

1. Weapon Scaling redone - seriously...look at some of the bows (btw no strings on them at this day and age just reeks lazy) the handles are fatter then the persons head...same with weapon handles on some (check out ser cauthrienne (sp) sword, it's as wide as her ****ing head)..and daggers? LOL..they're almost as large as a long-sword...totally ridiculous.
2. Better antagonist - sure Loghain was cool and all..but the main "boss" was the Archdemon..but he/she/it took a backseat to the politics of fereldan, then in the end it was just "sigh, ok, let's hurry up and go kill this archdemon thing....I want to go fishing." Seriously anti-climatic in an otherwise very well done story.
3. Darkspawn - let's drop the darkspawn are just misunderstood bull**** the whole Architect thing is trying to convey...and while we're at it.......while I think they look cool....can we either just accept that they're just orcs/goblins or redesign them so they don't look like they were ripped right out of the Jackson LoTR movies.
4. More consequences for your decisions - perfect example, redcliffe...it's really dumb that you're given several choices to settle that, when in the end leaving and going to the mage tower (since you HAVE to go there anyway) makes for a happily-ever-after ending...I mean why do anything BUT that? except if you're just RPing a douchebag...and sticking "in character." leaving for the mage tower SHOULD have had some consequence...the village was attacked again and a lot more died....y'know..something...not this tea and roses bull****.
those are just a few.
