I know for sure how to assembly a PC.. I am system engineering with 12 years of experience.. But just because I spend 8-10 hours a day in solving and troubleshooting problems since 1998 when I go out from my office and I arrive at home the LAST thing I feel like doing is to begin to work again on a PC...

Here is why I buy pre built PCs... When I am at home the only thing I want to do with my PC is press power on button and play... You may find it strange lol... like a mechanic who doesn't repair his car... or a pastry chef who doesn't like to eat pies.. but I am so...

Ahah honestly I can't understand how you can bear using a badly built PC that costs twice as much as it's worth, especially considering your job :D

To each his own, I guess. But as I said before, if you willingly refuse a viable and pretty cheap solution for the most costly and least effective one, then you can't really complain :D

It's more or less the equivalent of someone putting hos 360 in a fully closed cabinet without any kind of cooling and then complaining if it RRODs.

But, man... listening to everything else you've said, I really can't believe that you believe "Console users should already be happy (for) what they got."

I just can't believe you'd think anyone should be happy paying $10 more for a bug-ridden product. ;)

Nowadays PC development takes a backseat to console development 9 times out of 10. Most of the times in multiplatform development the PC version is ported after the console version is released.

I don't think console users (and I'm an all-platforms user, mind you) should really feel any wronged if, for once, console develpment would take a backseat to PC, especially considering that this game sold (and is still selling) more on PC than on any other platform, and that console gamers normally move over to new games much faster. Most of those that got the console version already moved over to the next title (probably multiple times) and patching the game won't benefit them.

It's a simple matter of logic and numbers. Completely separating PC development from consoles would simply benefit the vast majority of the players that still play dragon age today.

On regards the delay of PC development because of the console development, that is more a decision of the publisher, not of the end user... if publisher decides to delay a PC title because that publisher's decision, it's their problem... I've seen more the contrary, the PC development goes on and the console development is behind and it is ported after the PC version, especially on RPG titles

I agree that a publisher should separate both developments and launch the title one after the other, whichever comes first. And it is supposed that on consoles, it should be a better QA since patching is more "complicated" and to avoid to leave the final user waiting for patches from the developer...

We are really going off-topic now but this discussion need an answer 'cause I don't wanna give the impression to be ill-mannered :D

@qwerty1234567 It's not that I don't like my work, but I can ensure you that many of the people who do my same work (expecially my branch) doesn't really want to go crazy on PC when they are out from work. We usually try to avoid friends and relatives who always ask for something about PC, we always try to avoid any kind of problem even for our own PC...

@Abriael... Anyway, I have still to decide what to do this winter, maybe also that at the end I will decide to assembly one but it should be really a cheaper way.. Last time I figured to assembly a PC I looked into a web sites and choosing all the single components i wanted I discovered that I would finish to spend however about 900€, Not very cheap, so since we live in the same country if you send me by PM a site where buy single components at a lower price you are welcome :D

Please fix the storyline and epilogue bugs, they are also a large contributor to people NOT purchasing Awakenings.

And this is a fact.  When I first purchased Dragon Age - Origins I had intended to purchase everything that came out for it, DLC's, expansions, whatever.  Instead I purchased a couple DLC's and realized that BioWare had become everything they were assumed to become once purchased by EA.  Months without a patch and countless broken features and bugs remaining caused me to quit playing the game entirely without finishing it and quite obviously stop purchasing all related content.  I'm not sure EA / BioWare realizes how much profit they have missed with this rediculous situation.

Yeah, that was one of the main reasons I didn't get it, well that and the price, I just can't bring myself to pay almost as much as the original game for an expansion. Plus there's been no real patch till now, and I'm not spending any more money till the game is fixed, I stopped buying dlc after RtO, which was kind of disappointing considering the price. Hopefully a lot of the bugs will get fixed and we'll see a price drop on the expansion as an apology for taking so long to fix the game. Image IPB

building and upgrading your own computer is something i will never do.Il take pre made.

Please Please do not do such thing , My rig got fried due to a brown out.Surge protector was less than useless ( I got UPS Now to late,Barn door closed but Horse is gone. ).
My point I got a DELL. Why ? I had no Cash not even 100 dollars so I had to go and get this system on credit. It is powerful but I am not happy and modding options are Just Not there and the hardware all runs hot.
It's funny beouse I build lot's of systems for my friends.
Buy a custom Rig on Ebay if nothing else. The Dell is a Pain in the !@#.
The only reason to go Dell Pre-made is if like me you got no Cash at the time and maxed out Credit cards.

But if you got go Dell do your self a Favor Go Aleinware  some of the Dell Studio and Studio XPS might look the same but are cheaper or better deals but there not . If you go Premade and are not stupid and do not enjoy suffering Go Aleinware there real workmanship there. I checked a friend's Aleinware out and it has issues but no wear near as many as mine and he did get real bang for his buck and real updates to his firmware and his hardware is solid not just holding together. Dell standard Motherboards are known to have very cheap capacitors and well current revesal happen and you get screwed . Call up and they try and send a equavalent system as your current PC no longer in stock You can wind up with anything. And there 4 year warranty dose not cove damage there system dose to any hardware that conected to the PC even if it was there PC that destroyed your printer and exstenal Harddrive. And when I had a bad audio plug they claimed the analog Head phones wear a softwear issue(I said it was a bad jack) and wanted me to pay for a Softwear Guy to fix it as It was soft wear It was not covered by in house fix.I would have to mail my PC to them and they would fix and charge me like ($98.00) as they failed to fix it remotely. I use a soldergun, it was just a bad plug like I said.A lose wire that had not been Soldered right in the first place. It should been covered by my in house coverage as it was just basic hardware and they should come to my door to fix it free. Like I said crappy Crapppppy  CCCCrrrrrAAAAAAPPPPY workmanship.
Yes they suck and are a ripoff .

For the record DAO came with his PC and as of 1.03 patch he can not run it.

PS I will not respond to DELL Fanboys.

Maybe we could with a little incentive. Some more information? A release date? A rough estimate maybe? No, oh well. It was worth a shot.

-Sorcha. Patch in the possibility to bed her. There is even the dialogue option; why does it lead to nothing? http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Sorcha

-Armaas bugs ( http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Armaas ) and Lillith bugs ( http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Lillith )

-Random encounters bugs ( http://dragonage.wik...ndom_Encounters )

There are certainly other things not coming to my mind yet. But it's time for an update, isn't it? Hope you catch many of them :)

I don't think this is a bug....

It's just that you have no time for these things in Awakening cause you are focused on your mission...

Therefore even if she seems to appreciate in her dialogue, you have no time to for her casue you have to search immediately for Kristoff..

Ah, you've just reminded me... In Awakening I've ordered to execute the Messenger. Just to make sure he won't do anything funny. And in the epilogue slides he's alive and spreading taint among lost travelers. Such things are just... It ruins the experience, breaks immersion.

I didn't write that it was a bug. I think of it as an opportunity to excuse for missing romances; but hey, it won't happen, so it doesn't matter.

I've been using Qwinn's Unofficial DA:O Fixpack and things like Nukenin's Dog Find Fix and Nukenin's Stealing Fix before that.

Hopefully the next patch will work so that we won't need to use mods to play the game... As for me, one thing is certain, I know that I won't update to 1.04 right away.

Patch 1.03 broke so many things that I'm going to be very wary about 1.04. I never had a CTD before 1.03 and that was with a heavily modded game too.

It would be nice if the crossbow bug was fixed. It's a bit annoying especially when considering the great potential crossbows have in game.

But the amount of time it took them to release this, surely means they have tested this patch through and through?

Then again let's not forget Stanley Woo's smugness on the matter(that "we, Bioware, don't owe you a patch" comment).

-Fix vigilance and Sentinel
-Fix silverite mines, and the Blackblade gear. (Seriously, I hope if you do it drops before the high dragon. A set bonus at the END of the game, come on?! ><; )

These are the two things I want right now, they would at least make me feel that Awakening wasn't a waste of money- at least if you patched them soon, I quit the game a while ago, and any longer and it might feel so outdated I would rather go play something else >.>;

Throw us a bone or something, can we expect the update in 2010? I'm not exaggerating, I honestly don't expect this patch until like the release of DA2 >.>;

I've noticed this in the Human & Dwarf Noble storylines also:

In the Human Noble storyline you get to sleep with either Iona or Dairren, but there's no animation for it; just one of them getting killed as night falls.  Image IPB

In the Dwarf Noble storyline there's the noble hunters that you can sleep with before going into the Deep Mines, but no animiation; you wouldn't have even known it happens if you weren't paying attention to the dialog.  I once managed to have a threesome with them; sure would have liked to see an animation for that.  Image IPB

I can't really say these are bugs, but it would be nice to see animations for these events, seeing as their are already animations for the characters that you can romance.

EDIT:  On an off-note, I do know there are MODs out there that can add animations for these events; would be nice if additional files were not needed though.
