But the point is that for every people that say that their game is automagically working fine there is 100 people who say it does not. And again i must say that the bugs are in the eyes of the beholder. Some people will see a  twitch during an ingame video and call it a bug while other people with the same thing happening to them would not.

There is a concensus that there are really some bugs because many threads have been opened about very specific problems in the game(s).

Coming in and chiming in that you have no bug does not help in any shape of form in the discussion because you may see an event as normal while 100 people see it as a bug. If 100 people report the same thing as "maybe" a problem, then there is good chance it is....

The game is vast and complex. There is no way that you can see it all in one or several runs. The path that you take may lead to a problem free game ( by chance) versus those who explore every corner of the game are bound to find stuff that does not work.

So claiming that you have a bug free game is a statement of the fact that for whatever reasons you were able to avoid the trouble spots of the game and that if you do run into something odd, you may have just let it pass as normal while other people call it a bug.

There is no way that this huge amount of people who open the same discussion over and over can be wrong...

that was exactly what i was talking about. thats why i said he shouldn't have posted that he has no bugs. exactly why i refrained from doing so till now.

first lets define what a bug is by example. lets go with crashing while casting a spell. sure, it has happened to many many people, but it simply has not happened with ANY of my playthroughs (even played for 12 hours straight the other day on my day off from work and it didn't crash a single time).

we'll go with another example. stealing. i'm currently playing a dwarf rogue and the skill i use the most is stealing with no problem. tells me i have an item recieved and i 'magically' have a new item in my inventory. i tested that as soon as i first heard about the stealing bug. so saying "the bugs are in the eyes of the beholder" is not entirely accurate. i can see someone missing something small, but how would someone miss the game not crashing? or miss the stealing skill not providing a new item when starting with an empty inventory?

and i'm not by any means saying anyone is wrong when they talk about the bugs they have.

oh, and for this part:

Coming in and chiming in that you have no bug does not help in any shape
of form in the discussion

Eurypterid already answered that with this:

Actually, there's value in reporting that you're not experiencing bugs

Edit: Also, I have to agree with L0n3w0lf1971, fixing the Silverite Mine bug would be great... I lost all of my items... I was able to re-equip well enough afterword... but throwing away the things I had worked for was kind of a smack in the face!

Wait, wait wait a minute....why didn't you just load a previous save? that was really more your fault than bioware's

thats not realy fair loading an old game can often mean alot of replay time that doesnt mean u wont experiance the problem again the fact the fault exists at all clearly puts the fault on the side of the developer not the player

the mine glitch is a major issue that i have had and realy should be adressed as it seems to be amongst the most common people experiance

the Li letters are a nice touch didnt even  know that was even meant to happen, hopefully they'll help to increase the feeling of continuity between games which was sadly lacking in awakening

oh yeah and i dont know if this was ever resolved on earlier patches but if not putting in the missing elven armour peace would be great so it was possible to create the entire set

Actually, there's value in reporting that you're not experiencing bugs, if you also report your system specs. The problem lies in implying that people that ARE experiencing problems are somehow at fault. There are definitely issues with the game, but reporting that you're not having crashes with certain system specs can also be of value.

I have trouble believing that anyone is playing through the game and not experiencing at least some of these reported bugs though.

Thank You. You Hit It On The Nose.

yes he did. reporting the lack of bugs by the few of us that are lucky enough is just as important as reporting the bugs themselves by the thousands of players that are desperately waiting for this patch. glad SOMEONE sees the value there.

Well, yes, there is value (although I would remind readers that Eurypterid is *not* BW staff, and while contributing by bringing some semblence of order to these unruly forums, does not speak for them!)

But to the issue, that's why the following thread was created: "Gathering Technical Information for Stability and Performance Issues" at, http://social.biowar...8/index/2183461 .  As valuable as all the "I'm  having problems, here are my specs" reports are, I imagine "I'm not  having problems, here are mine" are equally so.  It's just that they belong in the thread devoted to the purpose.

Good, at the very least we know you guys are working on it. Hopefully we'll be able to see a release date for this patch before the end of summer.

A few things I would like to add to the list incase you haven't been informed of these before.

* Jowan's Intention quest does not trigger
* (Awakening only) Longsword/two-handed sword Vigilance looks like starfang with Warden's Keep DLC (As much as we all loved starfang I'm sure people would agree with me that the original artwork for vigilance looks MUCH better and would prefer it that way)
* (Awakening Only) Black Blade boots & Black Blade Gloves do not appear in the game (No matter how many times I fight the dragon he does not drop them, and I've looked high and low in the silvirite mines for good measure)
* (Awakening Only) Merchant does not sell extra goods after Trade Must Flow quest is complete (I noticed this when I tried to obtain a paragon lightning rune)
* (PC version) Elven boots do not appear in cabinet in lothering.

That's it for now, if I think of any more I'll be sure to post them here.

I'm just hoping that the memory leak issue fix helps with the lag I'm experiencing in battle. In large battles it becomes ridiculous - any action's effect takes maybe 5 or more seconds to materialize. Among the consequences of this is the fact that, having set my character's tactics to gulp down health poultices and lyrium potions as the need arises, they gulp the potion, but since their health/mana won't go up till maybe 5 seconds later, and the type of lyrium/health potion they used won't register as having been jused till that same time period later, they'll just consume another potion. And another, and another, and another, burning through a whole stack of them needlessly, before the effect finally sets in.

I can't wait for the patch, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it actually fixes severe issues like this.

Actually..  that is more a problem of power from your PC, why i say that? I had a Pentium 4 HT where was running the game, i get the lag anytime a blue NPC appear (10-20 seconds of lag) once i passed to a Pentium i5 (4 cores) the lag isn't appearing anymore, there were a Video card upgrade too (From GTS 8600 to GT 240 )  but  the lag don't seem be a problem of the videocard (low resolution, with all the visual effect off don't reduce the lag)

First I would like to say thank you getting back to us regarding the patch, I've been waiting so long for a patch to come out for the Xbox 360. I heard a lot people wanting a graphics fix for the Sentinal Armor and Vigilence Sword for Awakenings and I couldn't agree more but please don't for get the Warden Armor set bonus fix and graphic fix for female elves in Dragon Age: Orgins. The armor's texture wrong and doesn't carry the griffin symbol.

It's nothing like getting epic armor and weapons that's suppose to look awesome but end up looking unepic-like when you put it on your main character or functions less than what it's suppose to Image IPB.

Can anyone give us a ball-park guess on how long this might take? I haven't dealt with many games that needed patches and have no idea what kind of time scale we're dealing with here. Will it be days until we get an ETA? Weeks? Totally random?

(I just started a dual-wield Rogue today, and about 2 hours later discovered the Dexterity bug. That was crushing news, and I'm anxious to know when it'll be fixed.)

Thanks.

Anyway, will there be any solution to the problem that either sigrun or valenna is unable to complete her joining if her mission is completed last?

Do you work for Bioware? If not, you should; at least as an "emissary" between customers and Bioware's best cheek!

The build up and hype for this patch is bigger than the expansion pack. Seriously, with all these fixes it's gonna be almost like playing a sequel.

Actually the only problem left other than the silverite mine bug, than I can think of, is all the Vigilance and Sentinel set visual bug. Even stealing is going to be fixed when the patch comes out. Anything else I left out? Oh damnit yes there's also the naked bug at the beginning of the game I heard from a few others. Actually never heard of that one before until today.

There are many bugs left. A lot of them seem to be triggers that do not activate properly. But if the QA has really done their jobs this time and if the bug fixes list does work as listed then the major issues are goind down real fast.

It's not a bug, it was a choice made by Bioware not to add the dlc items and was announced a few weeks before the expansion was released. A few bugs I can think of still are:
  • the endings being buggy, "someone" being king when they shouldn't be, which carries over to awakenings
  • Jowan's Intention quest not showing up
  • Not getting the reward for shaperate quests (weapon)
  • the only dex fix mentioned was daggers, no word on bows, so possibly this as well

No no no you don't understand, I am aware already that Warden's Keep DLC items aren't meant to transfer. The naked bug I am talking about happens to players who even take the liberty to switch on to Non DLC armor sets and weapons! THAT is new to me, and I never heard of that before.
