I've played through the campaign several times now on my PC, and I have yet to find more than 15 or 16 corpse galls for the Chantry quest "Skin Deep", not counting the ones found in Fort Drakon during the final battle.

I've only ever found them in the Circle Tower, Castle Redcliffe, and in the ruins beneath the Brecilian Forest, dropping from both enraged and devouring corpses, and the droprate is like one in three. Oddly its 100% in Fort Drakon, go figure.

Has anyone else had this problem?

No, it's pretty easy to get them all in Redcliffe and the Circle Tower. Make sure that after you talk to Teagan and Isolde, you go upstairs and kill the 20 or so zombies around Connor as well. I usually have 12-14 by the time I head to the Circle Tower to rescue Irving which I finish up what I need there.

THAT is something I've never done: look for Connor. I've always just gone straight to the Fade quest.

If I recall correctly, you can force a confrontation with the demoness in the templar quarters to have her summon four or five more zombies that may also drop Corpse Galls. Otherwise, yep, Redcliffe.

I thought you only needed nine? That's odd. It's always only been nine corpse galls needed for my game. hmmmmmm...

I have always had this confirmed by the Sloth Demon, "You have some gall!"....

You only need nine, but get an extra reward for 18.  I always get enough in the Circle Tower and Redcliffe, even without fighting Connor's demon.  But you do need to go talk to Connor and open the doors along the way to fight lots of undead.

A couple extra can be picked up in the ruins in the Brecilian Forest.

The corpses beneath Redcliffe Castle drop about 14 galls, I have found. Keep them and wait until finishing the Brecilian Forest quests. The corpses in the ruins in the Brecilian Forest drop enough galls to take you above 18. Then just return to Redcliffe and hand them in.



That is what I have always done, anyway.

You can also get a couple extra in Honnleath while battling Kitty.

And now I see why I've never looked for Connor: that evil room with the animated Suits of Armor. Six of them! With every warrior talent known to man and obscene amounts of, um, armor!



Never could get through that room (love that Nightmare setting), but finally did. Armor-piercing weapons and liberal use of potions helped, along with several Large Shrapnel Traps.



Stupid armor! *kicks armor*

I wonder how many of the there are in the game.

Right now I’ve gotten 22 of them so far after doing Redcliff (saving Connor), Circle Tower and getting Shale after dealing with that pesky cat. -Gonna sick my dog on that cat next time I go there…

Going by the Wiki site they are found on devouring and enraged corpses. Another location for them not already mentioned is the Deep Roads (Wiki again).

It does seem that clearing out the enraged/devouring corpses on Redcliffe Castle's upper floor is a choke point as far as finding 18. 

In the past I've found corpse galls in every location mentioned here and always fallen short, but now on a playthrough having completed only Redcliffe and the Circle Tower I've already got 20. I've got extra! Think I'll make some stew, or maybe a nice pudding.

I never entered the Brecilian forest and had 21 by the time I got the quest. I wasn't making any effort to gather them.

I wish you could sell them. I got the 18 for the quest and still collected a bunch more after completing the quest and throughout the rest of the game.
