So going through the old thread, and the topic of not recruiting Garrus made me wonder:

I know you get the line during his recruitment...

But do any of his other lines change?

He has a lot of "just like old times" lines: After recruitment (going to hell/Paragon option), IFF banter, Dragon's teeth on Horizon, etc.

Do those lines change in a ME1-Garrus ME2 play through? Has anyone tried it and noticed this? oO

/trudges back into 2.0 thread to archive some more...

Page 225 and climbing.  Got a bit direstacted earlier today when I was sitting down to do it.  Takes me about 3 hours to get through 100 pages though.

It's tough, but do able.  And honestly, when I have the full archive up on the Clan V boards, I'll let others tell me what I missed where. xD

From what I've read on the forum, none of his other lines change, which makes it kind of odd for the rest of the game.

Hey everyone, since we have a new thread going, I'd like to post the last few sets I took. I haven't shotted Overlord yet and I have yet to do the N7 missions as well, so those are still outstanding.

THANK YOU

I love those screenshots a lot!

I have played ME1 once, and I took Garrus down the renegade path (even if I've tried to fix it by saving Sidonis now), but... What changes if you make him go the paragon way?

EDIT: Hello everyone! How's the night/morning/evening/whatever going?

I think I have one of those in the back of the wardrobe Sia (shudders with embarrassment).

As for new thread name - Still thinking about that one.  I do like the the hero that Omega deserves, except I think its just more than Omega that deserves Garrus!!

I always take Garrus on the paragon path. The only thing different I found was that when he announces he wants to take revenge on Sidonis, Garrus will add that he knows that Shepard would disapprove.

Apparently, he's gone back to being a renegon in ME2... That's nice for consequences <_<

And good morning for everyone (it's morning here)!!!

Paragon - He reapplies to C-Sec but quits because he doesn't like the Council's stance
Neutral - He doesn't bother reapplying to C-Sec
Renegade - He applies for Spectre training but decides against it because he doesn't like the Council's stance.

I just went through the Garrus romance (aside from the last scene before the Omega 4-relay) for the first time. I made a thread on the Garrus group detailing my thoughts (also a place to lend your own opinion of the Garrus romance):

Urg... one thing that stinks about this archiving? Realising you put a link to something in the wrong category... but only thinking about it twenty mins after the fact.

Editing.. it will be needed. Oy.

And as for Paragon/Renegade Garrus from ME1:

In ME2, if you Renegade him, he tells you he went into Spectre training. Also, if you paragon speak to him during his LM, he gets a bit cranky/acts like WTF I thought you'd understand.

In ME2, if you Paragon him, he tells you he went back into C-Sec (and I think reapplied for Spectre training.) and during his LM he says things like, "Look I know it's not how you'd do this, BUT=" etc

That's about it.

I imagine that they didn't have many permutations in ME2 to avoid a logistical nightmare. They are saving all of the branching paths and what not for ME3. Given all of the possible choices you have in ME2, it's convenient that ME3 is the last game in the trilogy. I don't know to what extent Garrus will be affected by how you mentored him, but I expect a greater change than in ME2 based upon the fact that Bioware need not worry about transferring save games from ME3 to any other game.

Oh yeah, thread titles.

I was thinking. Since this is not only going to be a Garrus thread but also turians in general, I thought the title could be something about... well, turians in general. Something like "The Tiebreaker: GL&TD" or "Working Off Stress: GL&TD" or "Garrus & Gizzards: GL&TD" (ew). Well, you catch my drift :P

I suppose, but the lack of consequences gave me dim hopes that ME3 will have them. It seems like BW puts emphasis on choices > consequences (those pesty email don't count).

I liked how consequences were used in Alpha Protocol better than ME series and even DA, but I'll see until ME3 comes out to make a full assessment.

Well, we may want the thread's contents and discussions to be easily discernible by the title and those who may not have posted in the thread before. Maybe I'm a bit of a minimalist, but Garrus & Turian dicussion v.3 may work. That's just me though :P

I'm going to play through the suicide mission a few times soon. Are there any combinations you guys need for the research? (None of the squad died, so that's anyone except Zaeed and Kasumi.) I'll definitely try Garrus and Thane - I want to see if my Shepard will catch/be caught by Garrus.

I see... I won't go through ME1 again with my mainshep to change it then xD

As for the height discussion (does anyone remember this? Well, I couldn't forget about it), let's call it a draw. Without taking into consideration Garrus' fringe or Mordin's ____ (How's that called? Anyone?), I'd say their height is the same.

(I also put a line at Garrus' shoulders 'cause it recalled my attention the differencee between his and Mordin's)

Are most of my Shepards the only ones who don't drink, or at least don't drink before a big mission? xD MainShep only drank a little for Garrus because he went through all that trouble. (She decided to never drink again after that batarian in Omega poisoned her... but being someone who hates batarians, she should really know better than to order a drink from one.)

So I assume Garrus won't agree with Shepard about keeping the base even if I bring another squadmate with the same opinion? They just won't say anything unless they disagree with Shepard? Too bad.

Garrsu bringing Garrus wine: the implications for critical analysis are astounding! Is it an ego thing? Is he literally telling her he wants her to 'drink' him? Did he just completely misunderstand human dating protocalls and mistake bringing wine for 'ferment your own'? The mind boggles.

It's 1.30 here. Plenty OK to booze.

Except I have to get up in the morning.

And let the mods stalk us. Alcoholis fun!
