Certainly he was a well written character, I liked him as a squadmate. I just didn't like him romantically. He seemed like a good guy, but I definitely was not attracted to him at all. But, I'm the sort of person who is bored by poetry and overly mushy/sentimental stuff. I much prefer men of action like Garrus.

Also, that was a great comic, too! Ha!

I don't think Garrus and Thane would get on. I don't think Garrus would dislike Thane enough to be a true rival, but at the same time with his 'black and white' view on morality I don't think he'd really trust a contract killer enough to develop a friendship.

And I think both of them are such introverts they'd never really talk to one another enough to even become casual buddies. I could seriously see them not having a single conversation throughout all of ME2.

It is a shame because I do think Garrus could use a foil, I don't really see anyone on the squad fitting that as is (though that's probably because there was zero squad banter in ME2...). I'd really like to see him talk with Joker just ONCE, I'd love to see how they get along.

Yeah, I can see Garrus really getting on with Joker. Also Kaidan. But in a more 'formal polite' way than buddies.

But for some bizarre reason, I can see Jack and Garrus getting along quite well. They both have an urge for action, and they both want to instill their own brand of justice onto the galaxy.

I can't. Jack is a criminal, and unrepentant one at that. She's taken hostages before, acted as a thug. She's was sort of person that Garrus was fighting against on Omega. Her hunting down Cerberus members has more to do with revenge than an attempt for justice. She also wants to hunt down the friends and families of those Cerberus members, which Garrus would most likely not approve of.

I think Jack and Garrus would be interesting to see interacting because she would push him waaaay out of his comfort zone. It'd be interesting to see if she could get him riled up with her antics. I don't know that they'd be friends, but they'd make interesting rivals.

I do think Thane is fanservice. I won't go into a big rant, but it just seems like every time I play the game he slips a little lower on my likability scale. Of course, part of that is that I really just don't like the Drell. I literally shudder every time it zooms in on his face.

Of course, she takes it to a higher level than Garrus. But I think Garrus will be able to empathise with her more than most of the other squaddies. He will be more tolerant. Naturally, Jack tries to push everyone away. Even a renegade Shepard. But they have both endured tragedy and have had that passion to extract revenge on those who have caused that tragedy.

Personally, the number one person I wanted to see interacting with Garrus in ME2 is Grunt. They have that whole turian/krogan thing going on, but I'd love to see Garrus having a soft spot for Grunt in spite of himself and looking out for him because he's kind of like a boisterous kid brother.

I would really like to see the two become unlikely friends in ME3.

I also quite liked what Grunt said in that conversation if you said 'You better not start anything with Garrus.' It showed that his natural rivalry with turians didn't mean an automatic hatred towards Garrus. And he is part of Shepard's clan.

I was also hoping for Joker to say more about Garrus too. I can see them as two people who would just be constantly quipping snarky one liners and a stream of banter.

Every aspect of him was designed to appeal to women. I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing, but it is an obvious thing. I won't say fanservice is bad because many would say that's why we got Garrus and Tali. There is more to Thane's character than "Hey, girls, here's a piece of alien meat," but he was very specifically designed.

I agree with this completely. I felt tension b/w them. Quite a bit actually. I do see them having a mutual respect of eachothers skills, but nothing in the sense of being best friends or anything. Not like Garrus has with Tali and Shep where we see him use a lot of silly banter. If they both fell in love with Shep? who's to say they "didnt". Technically speaking - majority of people Shepard meets finds her attractive in some form, seeing as she's not like many women. Whether its attraction or just respect - Everyone wants Shep :3 [both male & female]
and no bad mouthing Thane! Or so help me i will virtually bash u all.
nah jk - everyones entitled to their opinions. I actually liked his character alot. One of the most intriguing of the new cast, and the only one to actually fall in love with Shep than the usual other way around. And at least he actually opened up about his past. Something I wouldnt mind Garrus doing for a change.

and oh gosh- those comics.....U have no idea how much i laughed at them XDDDD Particularly the ones by queenmargo. Love her work. I can see the one about Garrus threatening to shoot him actually happening XD And them making out during thane's monologue = PRICELESS

That's brilliant, Arcana! I swear I saw him grin in-game during that conversation, I also noticed he didn't drop his rifle until he was absolutely sure that Thane wasn't going to attack Shepard (Jack has a cool "whatever" pose during the conversation as well).

@Leonia: Yea I noticed that too! Whoever is with you and Garrus, they lower their weapon first. Garrus keeps it aimed XP lol I had Miranda with me because i thought she'd give some kind of commentary. [didnt have Tali at the time - wouldve brought her instead.] I wouldve done the same though if i were him. Standing in front of an assassin, who just killed everyone in the room in no time flat and hardly any effort, and watched my CO approach him- Id be extremely cautious too 

@Kg: I remember him. I used to lurk here alot before actually participating in threads ;; Daawww ty. *noogies u* I like making ppl laugh with my wit and craziness.....and also see them squirm. Whichever applies. I have RL weapons in my room so yea XD Im a rebel at heart with a sense of humor.
