It makes me quite sad thinking about mass effect because I really want it to be real but I know it will never will be :,,(

I've been lurking in this thread for a while now, but after reading PCGamer's newest article about ME3, I've felt the need to de-lurk and ask a potentially stupid question. I'm slapping this under a spoiler tag, though, for those that are trying to stay as clueless as possible about the game.

**spoiler** So toward the end of the article, PCGamer actually tells you the worlds you're going to visit. I'll go ahead and just quote it word for word: "So your mission takes you to the Salarian homeworld, the Quarian homeworld, the Asari homeworld, and the human homeworld - Earth. You'll even go to Mars..." Does anyone see an obviously missing planet here? What about Palaven? :crying: That's the one world I realy, realy want to go to! Anyone heard anything about going there?**spoiler**

Hey, I view it like I view "The Matrix"...can you PROVE it's not real?
Can you PROVE Charon's not an iced-over mass relay??
So there's hope, yeah? ;)

I know this.  Damn, i really know how this feels.   It sucks... lol.  Seriously.  I wish the world was a bit more exciting.

and to answer your question, Starzie.

**spoiler**

Palaven has been mentioned, however its supposedly pretty blown up and destroyed and evacuated by the time we get there.
Thats far as we know so far.

Blah had to read 2 pgs worth of posts XP So much exciting news!

~GAH! OBSY! I LOVE IT! Shirtless Nihlus!! *glomps* Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

~WTFOMG SPAZZ New chap of After the Reapers!?!?!?!?! *runs to DA*

~Casey tweets = FULL OF WIN!
Deeper relationships make me VERY happy. More Garrus interactions! WOO! And I better see some hugs!!! [and cuddling!] *shakes fist* Casey u teasing bastard. We love u.Posted Image

~[not so great news] - Yea, we've only heard so far that Palaven is getting totally bombarded by reapers, thus evacuating everyone immediately. I still think we might [and i really WANT to] actually LAND on the darn planet - maybe go quick to recover something. Possibly some research to help aid the quest against the reapers or a device? Whatever - i want to get on that planet. Destroyed or not- i dont care just get me on it!
If worst comes to shove, we might just end up going to Palaven's moon, where all the turians fled too. Regardless- Garrus is going to want to head there to see everything, and everyone, for himself.

I know mass effect could technically be real but the chances it is would probably be around 1 in 1 googolplex.

You never know.. perhaps in the very near future it could be a possibility to fly amongst the stars, earn our place. Though no promise of it within this year or even the next. Though I don't doubt for even a minute perhaps our technology will advance to such lengths, Danny. :)

As for the pics... *insert fangirlish squee here* Lurking here is the best. I love all the little tidbits of information, all the fanfics (though I don't read them much as I don't have time), and all the artwork.. aahh... so inspiring. :)

And I agree, hope we get to go to Palaven! Destroyed or not! :o *offers high fives*

I don't know why, but I have the sudden urge to inform you of all this.

The next chapter of my fan-fic will feature none other than that Turian badass, Garrus Vakarian.

Yeah, but even if this is the case, the chances of ourselves being around to see it are very very slim.  Tis true that there is one hell of a possibility though.

and hell yeah. Garrus Vakarian. I know that guy.

Are you really sure about that? B)

It may not be real in that way, but it's real enough for us. It's like our secondary primary world!

Yes i'm sure :P I would do so many unspeakable things without a debut for it to be real though.

Edit: Wow i just had an image in my head where garrus was in a modified starcraft space marine armour :o

My thoughts on the "mass effect being real" are somewhat like this. The world as it stands is boring. There is no adventure. There are no heroes. There really isn't much in the way of excitement.

If tomorrow, we were to find a Mass Relay on Charon and all this new tech... my gods can you imagine?

I think of it this way.... right now our status quo is pretty sucky. at least... something different would be happening. *shrug*

This is why fanfiction is so wonderful.. when the video game ends, your imagination is still free to roam around the world and get lost in something that isn't reality.

My dream job has always been to study xenobiology but of course, as a species, we've yet to find any extra-terrestial life and the methods we are using to look for such life resembles the same template as we have seen on eearth (I mean, do you really think all life in the universe is carbon-based or has levo-based DNA?). I think, even if we found it, we wouldn't know we found it. And then I could rant about how much money is spent on everything except the space program (and the money spent there is wasted on the same old projects instead of trying to get to Mars or beyond).

Sometimes it feels like I was born during the wrong decade, you know? I'd be all over life beyond the Charon-relay in a heartbeat. Until then, there's the wonderful world of sci-fi to play make-believe in.
