EDIT: Wow, top of the page again?  :P

EDIT 2: I know this isn't Garrus, but this was in my dA box this morning, and I find it most impressive.

'Supportive' sounds like he was referring to the thickness, which makes me think turian females have thicker waists than males. It'd be interesting if the 'hourglass' figure we humans associate with femininity is actually a male trait in turians, with females being straighter and having fewer curves.

Please forgive my male brain but that would be a bit boring. But thick waist, sure sounds good. It doesn't have to rule out those awesome turian hips though. Perhaps turian gals are rather pear shaped.

Thanks for sharing the pics, Danny, but I'd really prefer not to get locked if a mod happens to notice we veered off topic.

@widowspeak: Ah im a HUGE fan of patryk-garrett  on DA ^_____________^ That Grunt image was made awhile back but im always at awe by his skill. Has anyone seen his last 2 creations? He made Mordin and FemShep. Posted Femshep a day ago, and Mordin.....about 10?  Anyways - Truly something to marvel at.

Why BW hasnt hired this guy yet.....i dont know.
I HEARD he's working on an asari next. Whether its Liara or Samara is a mystery. Heck maybe Morinth? Also heard Tali is coming up very soon.
And yes people - He made Garrus ages ago ^_^

edit: LMAO Naurto as commander XD As much as an otaku as i am, if naruto was in charge of saving the universe, i think we'd all die XDDDDDD
And @ that duke Shep pic - hmmm not enough females surrounding him. Needs more. Duke is always surrounded by women. Shep shouldnt be any different. Throw in all the other girls of the normandy and then itl b awesome. Posted Image

Speaking of DA - Has anyone been following the INCREDIBLE comic The Spectre and Archangel?
Look who shows up in a certain armor  in one of the latest chaptersPosted Image

This is how I always imagined a turian looking: without a huge neck crest.

Everyone always draws naked turians with these giant natural turtle necks, because they see the turian clothing with those big buckets around their collars. But Shepard also has a suit with one of those giant collars, and yet humans don't have a neck brace.

Grunt. Girlfriend. CUTEST IDEA EVER.

Why am I imagining the scene with Fry coaching Zoidberg on dating now? "Is desire to mate a feeling?"

Even better if Garrus is the one doing the coaching.

So many pages gone by...! Sorry in advance for the giant post.
Chewin3 wrote...

There’s a chance it could stand on its own, however, if it explores new territory within the universe. And there’s plenty of universe to explore. So I dunno if this is confirmed but if the movie will tell about the events of The First Contact War, that would be a fascinating story. If the film does that, it can expand on the universe and tell a different kind of story without stepping onto the games’ toes.

The cynic in me suspects this won’t happen, though, because the cynic in me also suspects this is mostly about money. If it is mostly about money, than the producers aren’t going to want to take risks, and exploring new territory is always risky, especially with a genre of film that typically doesn’t do too well in the box office.

In addition to all that, a Mass Effect movie would have to be Oscar-nominee material to stand up to the incredible experience provided by the games. It’s possible, I suppose, but the cynic suggests it’s about as likely as a Jack Frost building a summer home in the ninth circle of hell.I hope I’m wrong. I really do.

Done well, this could be a great movie. But due to the nature of the property and the high level of quality the games have, the margin for error is quite small.
Excellent post. Me, I'm an optimist. I also have this wonderful fantasy about a movie depicting the The First Contact War: what if it was done from the turian perspective? Wouldn't it be awesome? Start by showing the "normal" life in the galaxy, and how these pesky humans disrupted it. Then add a human/turian romance for good measure, going against the fear and hatred and good reason. Love saves us all! Ahhh... And then I wake up.

It's a rediculously short fic. just... insight. and it makes me sad. not like Cracked Fait, Arc... more like. 100 Year Distance. and anyone who hasn't read that one NEEDS TO RIGHT NOW. if you feel like being sad.
Interesting... The 100 Years Distance did nothing for me.

But this one, I agree. Sad, if too short. Saren makes me sad. Nihlus even more. You know the Sovereign's theme from ME soundtrack? It captures the feeling perfectly. Inevitability. :(

I've been itching to write a Saren/Nihlus fanfic for some time now, though I fear it as much as I want it. Do we know how old Saren is, and Nihlus? And when they first met?
ArcanaLegacy wrote...
btw, ive been thinking.....anyone think Garrus will finally say those 3 little words to Shepard in me3?
Personally, I hope not. I worry that might be too sappy for Garrus. I'm sure they could come up with something just as heartfelt, more original and more 'Garrus'-ey for him to say instead. Actually, every time one of my BioWare LIs has said 'I love you' I haven't been able to buy it, it felt kind of contrived to me. Then again, the ones that have were almost always my least favorites, so, yeah.

I loved that Fenris in DA2 never said the words 'I love you', but by the end of the romance it was in the subtext of everything else he said.

Give me "I want something to go right. Just once." and "Nothing is going to keep me from you." over 'those three words' any day. Those are the lines I'll remember and the ones that make me go all gooey inside.

Garrus says "Nothing is going to keep me from you." ??? When?

Yup. Very well written. I liked the, um, anatomy lesson. :)

...
Fanfics like that one remind me of how utterly crappy my own fanfic writing is. That's pro-grade stuff right there.
No no no, you've got to be positive about it. It's great to find stories better than your own because you can learn from them. Imagine a bleak world where you stuff was the best!

Well, ok. Maybe it wouldn't be all that bad. :)

Oh yes indeed. I love her (?) Shepard. Strong, relentless. Fragile. I kinda think the plot follows "Loved", at least in the beginning. Not sure, a long time since I'd read that.

That's a Fenris line from DA2. I had mentioned Fenris in that post as well, as an excellent example of a 'romantic' romance in spite of him never saying 'I love you'. Instead he says lines that are more his style and just as heartfelt; such as the previously mentioned one and, "Nothing could be worse than the thought of living without you." Guh, I melt when I hear that. *_*

Yeah, both of them...  i love both of them, and .... i ship them so hard its not even funny. does that make me silly? lol.   please write that story. i will love you forever and ever.

Nihlus was young, i know that... i know that he was already an accomplished Spectre and it was bizzare cause he was so young.  I know he went into the military when he was 16... and probably about 6 or 7 years is when we meet him.  maybe less.  the impression that I get is that he was only in the military for a year or so, and then Saren found him, and after a year with Saren mentoring him, he joined the Spectres and has been in there for a few years when we meet him.
So my best guess would be somewhere around 25.
Saren?  not sure ....  I think Kim once told me that he was somehting like mid-30s?

i think that answers both of your questions.

edit:  OMG the Fenris lines at the end there.  "Promise me you won't die, I can't bear the thought of living without you."  I can't . those lines kill me every time.

Oh well. I knew it was too good to be true. Never romanced Fenris.

Hm. Did a bit of thinking. Saren was already a grown man during the events of Evolution, so he can't be as young as 30 in ME. More like 40-50. Which isn't "too old" - Anderson's about the same age. I'd also say Nihlus must be 30+ at the time of ME - somehow I can't imagine him being younger than Garrus.

I'll go do some calibrations. :)

Yeah. The scene after rescuing Garrus - with Jacob and Miranda and then Joker talking Shep down - that's what gave me the idea. Did I mix something up...? Quite possible. In which case, apologies.

Honestly - That one line would work so well with Garrus. Why? Because he has already been through it. 2 long lonely years. Betcha he'll mention something like that in me3.

And I havent played DA2, but i melted as wellPosted Image

I believed this as well.
My thoughts on age was:
Garrus -> Nihlus -> Saren

I pegged Saren was maybe late 30s to mid 40s. I keep getting the feeling Anderson and Saren are around the same age, based off the novels. But then again i could be wrong. Just intuition. Nihlus, possibly in mid to late 30s.
Garrus...well we know what BW and BK had said about Garrus. Hes not 30, & i always imagined him mid 20s. Even though most of the net says 27-29.

hmm. you might be right.  I'm no good at guessing these things.  just going on what I know, the wiki says, "Nihlus's military career nearly stalled before it even started."  and thats when Saren picks him up.  then it says that after a year of training with Saren, he joined the Spectres.  thats where I get my figures from.

and about Saren...  your probably right. I haven't read Evolution, so I dont know.   we need Kim for this info. Wish she would come back.
