I think he also claimed in some interview that ME2 could have something like "100 gameplay hours" or something like that.

It does, if you scan enough planets :P

.../is one of the idiots who mined the entire galaxy

As for conversations I want to see, Collider's already said it for me - I want squaddies to acknowledge our decisions. There are plenty of points in ME2 where I would have liked to hear what Garrus thought about a mission.
They did it in ME1 - Ash, Kaidan and Liara would comment on the outcomes of the main missions, so why not implement something similar for ME3?

Of course, one problem for me here would be wanting to keep Garrus happy.  I have jokingly said of DAO that my morality had nothing to do with.  A lot of my decisions had more to do with "Alistair approves +5"

Granted my paragade is a lot like Garrus so no worries.

I think some/most of the time, Garrus' disapproval be "maybe that wasn't the right decision" for choices he doesn't necessarily agree with. Certain things like Sidonis though, he is pretty willing to argue about.
A lot of times though, Garrus just trusts Shepard that s/he went with the right choice.

I'm catching up after having sent my computer back to the shop, but I'd just like to say that the next person who brings up "mutant babies" or "Garrus manbabies" should be told (nicely) to read "Bloodchild" by Octavia Butler. That short story will singlehandedly kill any such thoughts once and for all-- and probably make you swear off eating eggs for a while as well.

I would like to get feedback on the status. Only Jacob seemed to have done that, which is kind of a shame, because Garrus has been there from the beginning, so there is no reason why he can't chime in and discuss about what's currently going on.

Yea, especially given he was the only one who could be there at Horizon and had also seen you with Kaidan (if you were with him.)  You romance Kaidan, have a fight with Kaidan in front of Garrus, and then start to romance Garrus instead, and Garrus has absolutely nothing to say about that?  Really?  You can't tell me he isn't thinking about it.  Likewise, he has nothing to say on what he thought when you died.  Really?  Nothing to say about Cerberus?  The list goes on and on.  I realize he is in a really tough spot and his mind is mostly on Sidonis so maybe that is kind of selfish of me.  But what about after Sidonis?

Whenever mutant babies come up, Eradyn starts killing puppies.  It's a well known fact.  And I start breaking out the pitchforks and starting peasant revolts.  Mutant babies is the Garrus thread equivalent of a leper.  Whenever it comes up, people immediately start screaming "unclean! unclean!"

I think as far as the ME1 LI goes, Bioware didn't really do an amazing job. No one really seems to reference that you were with Ashley or Kaidan.

Garrus and Tali would probably know, but they don't say anything (then again, they could just have it in ME3 that Garrus and Tali didn't notice or something *shrug*). Miranda could know about Liara since they talked in the comics. Still no comment.

Visit Liara - no one says anything. Despite how much effort Bioware put into the priiize, Jacob doesn't get any extra lines if you romanced him before Horizon, IIRC.

If your LI in ME1 dies on Virmire, you don't get anything special. The game acts like you never romanced them.

It's kind of like everyone is living on their own island. It's not that Garrus and Tali wouldn't want to talk about Shepard's previous relationship, but it's that the game isn't very good on referencing it in the first place at all.

I agree. I had Tali romanced and Liara up and kisses me in front of her and Tali just stands there? Riiiggghttt. She doesn't even squirm a little.

Also, was there any discussion here that the terms "husband" and "wife" were blatantly used in reference to turians in a recent Cerberus news update?  We have confirmation on that bit of speculation finally.

the only two people you can talk to about the VS are Joker and Kelly. Everybody else is so not involved in this storyline. SUCKS! I mean, I do appreciate that the VS on Horizon at LEAST acknowledges the presence of Garrus but still.....they coulda done better on that.

Garrus and Tali refer a lot to Shep's work with Cerberus though.

There's a lot of bad blood between Cerberus and the Quarians.

Garrus does raise concerns though - he just gives Shepard the benefit of the doubt here.

Except when it comes time for Miranda to lead the squad. Then he agrees with Jack. For a long time I actually thought Garrus had no problem with Cerberus what with his "I wish we had joined them sooner" and I thought his head shake in the suicide briefing was over Jack causing drama but really he is agreeing with her.

Good point. Although I think it has to do partly with Miranda herself. She doesn't exactly inspire loyalty.

I think it's because ALL of them agreed to work for Shepard and the fact, that they now have to split into teams with different leaders makes it harder for some to adjust to it. Seeing the Jack-Miranda conflict for example. I usually had Jacob lead the team just so he was at least a bit useful. But I like to see how they all still have their likes-dislikes among each other, yet eventually overcome it for the mission.

Huh, in my original playthrough I sent Jacob back as escort because when I looked at my list of squaddies I thought "Jacob doesn't specialize in anything so I won't need him." It was my first major "man this Jacob guy is boring" revelation.

does he? never noticed that!

I usually sent Mordin back as an escort, use Kasumi as tech specialist, Jack as biotic specialist, take Thane and Miranda as squad with me because I love how Miranda quits xD

Clean up the confetti. Same team = same development team.

What the hell people, I go to bed early for once and come back to read ~11 pages? Catching up took me an hour

'Grey' decisions: it's what makes roleplaying as myself even better. Playing ME2 is a nice way to challenge my mind.

Romance dialogue: I'm fine with the way it is. I like the contrast between the sex-focused build up dialogue and the emotional romance scene.

And a lot more, but I have a headache and I'm sneezing my lungs out.

Hey Cerryd,

hope you'll feel better soon *hands tissues* sounds like some allergies bothering you? ohohoh...wait, did someone say allergy? Did I say tissue? *takes deep breath to NOT go there again* :whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle:

Did they qualify that "same team" meant "same development team?"

Cuttlebone included, yea. Other things that indicate so:
1. If you try to help Jacob with his problems, Jacob gets angry and says that maybe Shepard should talk to Garrus instead (which came out of nowhere). After which Jacob does not want to talk to you anymore at all.
2. He calls Garrus the "wounded type" - he says something like "I guess you like your men wounded."

Huh, where does he say that?  Dang, I've asked too many Jacob questions.  I need to just suck it up and go back to some of my old strategic plays and experiment for science.  Got nothing better to do.

In Jacob's 2nd/3rd romance (fairly certain he has 4) conversation:

Jacob: I'm just being honest. Big picture, there's way more important things to hold onto.

Shepard (concerned): Lying to yourself won't help. It'll just eat at you. (this is the "That's just naive" option)

Jacob (angry): What I really don't need is someone telling me I don't know myself.
You think about my problems more than I do, and it needs to stop.
Maybe you should go hang on Garrus. He might suit you better. *ends romance*
-
Oh Jacob, how true you are :o
After I talk to him again, he's all
Jacob: I'll take your orders on missions, Shepard, but time on ship is mine.
