LOL @Hellbound555! You know, I think you may be right!

Okay, I was just reading the little blurb about the planet Invictus in the Caestus system, and then I shot it full of probes to steal its eezo, and I had to wonder... What do all of these colonized, urbanized planets think about some random Cerberus ship showing up and blasting their planet full of mining probes? Seems an awful lot like stealing to me. Granted, this is the same 'galactic hero' that loots corpses and steals from peoples' safes, so...

XDDD "Definitely" deserves an achievement.

and i completely agree with Obsy. Those scars are "smexy". On the contrary to what some ppl might say about scars - I honestly believe that they actually made Garrus MORE sexy. i didnt think it was possible for Garrus to get more attractive, but boy did BW prove me wrong. It sexy because of appearance, AND the meaning behind them. Its apart of him now, and I wouldnt take him any other way.

Shepard was really just trying to scare them away and plunder the booty undisturbed. :bandit:

I just feel incredibly guilty mining inhabited worlds. I keep imagining some kid staring up at the sky and then a probe shoots down and lands on their head, or their house, or their dog space cow. :crying:

Does Shepard throw the probe at the planet and then pull it back like a claw game from space ?

I've always assumed it worked like the ME1 mining, where you find the deposit and then 'claim' it, but the probes don't actually mine it, someone comes along and does that later (but it simply gives you the minerals to expediate the process).

My concern isn't about it coming back up, but about the initial probe shooting into the planet's surface from space. :?

I wish they had made a different kind of feature of the planet mining. You'd need to negotiate with the planet's inhabitants for a permission to acquire their minerals, and there could be an option where a poor defenseless colony would plead Shepard not steal their only remaining resources, hence a chance to earn either renegade or paragon points. But that sort of thing would've been impossible for every planet. Micromanaging isn't always fun. I'm glad they're going to improve it for ME3 in any case.

Anyway, I was wondering how people here are going to deal with future spoilers? Up to now, I’ve been reading up all the tidbits about ME3, and by now I already know more about it in advance than most other games I've played. I've thought about staying away from all forums, but then again I’m way too curious and I like the musings on the old games. And I’d sort of like to know for SURE that they won’t kill Garrus. Gah. Is there going to be a separate spoiler-free thread at one point? Is there one on some other forum already? What did people do before ME 2 came out?

I would desperately like to avoid any and all ME3 spoilers, but I fully realize that that isn't at all realistic, given the frequency with which I come here. :P  I feel like I already know too much, but I know that it's only going to get much, much more prevalent in the next several months.  I have no choice but to come here...I'm far too addicted to BSN to leave. LOL!
I would REALLY love to see this thread spoiler-free, and only spoilerific threads, so-marked, for the discussions.  I know that won't happen.  But hey, that's my 2 credits. ^_^

You can give this forum a shot. Spoilers aren't visible there unless individual members specifically ask. (this is an invitation)

I doubt they'll kill Garrus. He had already had his chance for that in ME2. Doing so in ME3 would just seem redundant and unnecessary. Anyway, Garrus has been through enough already without having...death added to it.
If there has to be a mandatory death, I'd prefer it to be an NPC.

Thanks for the reply kglaser. :) I guess it was the same before ME2 too, then. Well, I don't know if I would even be able to resist looking at all the spoilers anyway, although a spoiler-free thread would be great. Hopefully BioWare won't be giving too much info away.

You're probably right about Garrus, but I tend to worry about the strangest things. :P

I just keep thinking of ME2 and the fact that I managed to avoid learning that Garrus was an LI...the sheer bliss experienced when I stumbled across that fact, in-game, was a gaming moment I'll absolutely never forget. :D

Lol, I am so stupid it's not even funny anymore. In my defense, I have the worst case of flu in two years. Thanks for your patience. :D

I already knew Garrus would be in ME2 before playing it, so I'd really like to experience some equally awesome Garrus-related surprise in ME3!

No problem. You can log in now with the account you registered.

I'm hoping that they've been listening to fan feedback and will increase the amount of interaction with Garrus in ME3. He had the least amount of conversations and it was quite glaring.

Speaking of spoilers, I think there's a good chance we'll get to see Garrus on Tuesday.

Think about it, there's always a bit of redundancy in what they release (likely to minimize spoiling). The beginning scene of ME2 with Shepard dying springs to mind. Or in DA2, Isabela's recruitment quest was used both in the live play and the demo, and I think was also used in press stuff before that.

So, since the Salarian homeworld was the mission where we got the first in-game screenshots from GameInformer, and then IGN had a report of a demo of the same mission, I'm thinking that'll be what we'll see at E3. If so, that could include Garrus and Liara as the chosen squadmates given that they were in that latest released image. ::hopes!::

Same here. With a bunch of people getting the game early, I couldn't resist the pull of spoilers and watched a livestream play a day or two before it came out, and I saw the entire romance before playing it. This time I'm going to try and resist like I did with DA2 and stop going to the forums completely during the final stretch when all of the minute details are coming out. Hopefully I can be strong... :?

@Collider: I hope so too. I find it promising that he had a whole video about him with the GameInformer coverage and the fact that he's already confirmed as a core squadmate. They obviously recognize his popularity, I just hope that impacted their decision regarding his lines.

Ha yeah, that was my big accomplishment for the day. Thanks everyone for thinking about me though, ya'll are the best.

Some lovely fanart.. on the scarring, I reckon we're seeing the skin underneathe the plates and most of the scarring has healed enough to take the bandage off so it's mostly the skin part exposed on the carapace regrows (it can regrow, right?) which probably takes ages.
