Oh i like that idea of seeing some Garrus in the FemShep trailer. Sounds real good.
And im pretty happy FemShep gets a trailer. I love the care they are putting in her, specially since its far less then half the players who went with her. I manage to play Sheploo since ive been playing games for a long time and rarely had choice before but the more i play Bio games the less i am able to roleplay male characters.

Okay, bringing my heartrate down.  Phew...It was bad when I read "femShep trailer" and realized it was real and not speculation.  Then someone had to pair that with "Garrus" and boom heartrate off the charts. You guys will be the death of me.

For example, if someone is behind Shepard and is ready to pull the trigger, then Garrus suddenly appears and takes him down with his fists. And reverse. They two looking after each other's back.

The live feed from IGN about E3 confirmed that (spoilers oncoming = highlight to read)
Shepard's "friends" (squad mates) are scattered around the galaxy at the start of ME3. Which means that you'll probably have to rerecruit Garrus.

As to the reason why the crew is split (again...), I imagine it's thus:
The crew had things to do. The Alliance seized the Normandy, so they had to leave anyway. I assume that trouble is brewing for each of the races, so while Shepard went to earth to be put on trial, the squad mates went back "home" to help.

As we've found out, Palaven has been having some trouble with terrorist attacks, I believe. I think I also read that the reapers hit Palaven first, and Garrus' family is there.

I get the feeling that you go to a certain place, resolve the problem
there, and afterward the associated squad mate is put into your actual
team.

In Garrus's case, you probably go to Palaven or a Turian colony resolve the/some of the problems there. After that, he's on your squad officially. For Tali, it would be some place in quarian/geth space, Liara probably Thessia. Who knows who the other squad mates are.

hummm well if permanent squaddie = you have to go get them on their own planet at some point in the game i wonder what the non permanent ones will get in term of onscreen time. Maybe something like LOTSB ? That would dispoint some ppl.

from what he artist wrote, when she met Garrus on her Kaidan loyal run she had to go get her other FemShep to squeee on Garrus. The chibi faces are her own expressions as player.

edit: just remembered - I mentioned G4 was going to go over ME3. well they did, but nothing new really. Casey was there too. Mentioning the precious "Switchblade Hologram". heh

G4 interviews Casey on Mass Effect 3 [in this vid, you'll get a glimpse of other salarians fighting alongside the squad in the salarian homeworld mission o.O we didnt notice this before. U can see them briefly around 1:35]

and yes - you can judge from their excitement, they are HUGE mass effect fans XD their show is always giving mass effect updates. The guy on the far left, he's Adam Sessler - and he proudly admitted one reason to playing Mass effect 2 was "to sleep with Garrus". XDDDD Morgan, girl in the interview to Caseys right, is a STRONG femshep believer. [realize she kept trying to correct Adam by saying "Her" whenever adam said "his"]. And they did give ME2 their Game of the year award. WOO!

I liked how Casey mentioned "....if a certain character lived, lets let them remember how you saved them.". Sooooo.....Garrus will remember when FemShep caught and pulled him back up during the suicide mission? I hope so! and will it play vice versa? Will Garrus remember pulling FemShep up onto the Normandy? so many questions.

That could be a little awkward on my Femshep file - if I recall correctly, Thane wound up being the one who fell off the ledge.  Though I think Garrus was the one who helped her onto the Normandy.

But that would be a neat little touch.

Ooo, awesome. In my latest game I worked it so that FemShep would catch Garrus and then Garrus would help her up onto the ship. It took a ton of reloading for that to work since for some reason the game kept WILLING Garrus into the first squad spot. I reloaded like a dozen times before it'd put him on the right.

EDIT: I kept wondering where that new Garrus image came from that everyone has as their avatar and then just now I realized they added new ones with the ME3 board. xD; I wonder why he still has his ME2 head.

I'm skeptical whether they'd actually record and factor in who catched who. Especially since how the code decides that is essentially arbitrary.

I doubt that they'll do this, but I'd really wish they'd make the animations/comments your party members do depend on the character rather than what slot they're in.

I also dislike the generic comments that squad mates say. Garrus generally has some of the most flavorful and unique comments on missions, but some of the other squad mates have generic dialog, very often saying the exact same thing as other squad mates. I understand that it's useful to do this, but it doesn't really that take that much away from the player's sense of direction if the squad mates take their own spin on what's going on in the environment.

@Collider: Yeah, it might be difficult, but I wish there would be lines for it. In my canon playthrough Shep ended up catching Jack, which I liked because I kept wanting to get her to like me. :< I'd love it if she mentioned it in ME3.

@ciaweth: I think Garrus was understating his own flexibility.
