Substitute Nihlus with Lorik Qui'in and my FemShep is the happiest woman in the galaxy. Not that I wouldn't mind more time with Nihlus but..it's hard to visualise. She likes her classy turians. Maybe an antique shop would be involved.

He's not. Zaeed proved it was possible to take a bullet to the head and LIVE. If he can do it, Nihlus can!

Nihlus was just unconscious when we saw him lying on the floor! He'd just been shoot in the head. Of course he's not going to be moving immediately. Sucks, I wanted to stay with him and get him some help - but "the missions came first". BLAHHH! Nihlus came first in my mission!

and i disliked how in me2, the conversation b/w Shep and Samara - they spoke in PAST tense about nihlus. NONSENSE! HE'S ALIVE! they just dont know it!  

This.. I mean common... It's so easy to live through being shot in the head, and left on that planet to rot. Just kidding with the irony... I really would love to have him as a squaddie in ME3. He would be like... "Shepard... I'm back! B)"

What's wrong with just adding Lorik to the mix, instead?  Vigilante turian?  Check.  Badass Spectre turian?  Check.  classy bureaucratic turian?  Check.  Extremely happy Savior of the Galaxy?

How do you all think Garrus will react to returning ME1 squad-mates in ME3? We didn't get much interaction with Liara in LotSB and other than a line or two on Horizon directed at Kaidan/Ashley we didn't get much on that front either. I wonder if he'll become somewhat protective of Shepard if they are in a relationship? Still trying to visualise how the confrontation with Kaidan might go down (if he was Shepard's ME1 LI, that is).

I like Lorik, he deserves the attention, I've been meaning to make a "Lorik Qui'in as squad mate and LI in Mass Effect 3" banner for a while.

...i dont think this is true at all, to be honest.   but there are other awesome turians. and some of us love them as much as Garrus or more, and they don't get their own threads. 

and we talk about Garrus a lot. all of us being quite obsessive over him. 

...however, i happen to love Nihlus. 

and Saren, and Lorik, and Valern, and TECHNO TURIAN (who always has to be all caps, in my book) and Li, and the bartender.... etc. 

edited to comment to leonia:   I can't WAIT to see the confrontation between Kaidan and Garrus.  honestly?  i hope they keep true to the characters.  I cannot see either of them getting angry.   I can see a bit of defeat, but i think that they respect each other and would respect Shepards decision. They've both been with her since the beginning. (thats a lie, actually. Kaidan has NOT)

I would looooove to see Garrus go all protective over her though!  get mad that Kaidan was such a b*tch on Horizon.

Probably this. I think, if you romanced Kaidan in ME1, Garrus will mostly hate him. Especially if he is flirting with her. If so, it'll end up pretty badly for Kaidan..
